Hello Neighbor 3 Prototype 2 footage was just dropped in the tinyBuild showcase, and it looks like the franchise is leveling up in a big way. Gone are the days of sneaking into just one house—now the entire neighborhood is open for infiltration, and each home is a playable space with its own items, secrets, and owners. That’s right, owners. And they don’t want you snooping around.
According to the new dev footage, Hello Neighbor 3 Prototype 2 introduces a more realistic design approach for houses and environments, while still keeping that signature cartoony flair for characters and objects. Every home in the neighborhood can be entered (if you’re smart enough to figure out how), and players are encouraged to be sneaky, brutal, clever—or all three.
This is now a system-based world. New tools like hidden boxes, speed boosts, break/fix mechanics, and other gadgets are here to help you explore and survive.
Unlike previous games, this one has a clear key objective: leave the town before the storm hits. But there’s a twist. The narrator in the trailer poses a haunting question: Will you leave the town alone?
That line has fans spinning theories fast. Longtime players will remember past hints of someone being held captive by the Neighbor. Streamers and players alike tried to uncover their fate, but never got closure. Could this be the game where you finally get to rescue them—and not just escape solo?
Even as Prototype 2 footage just dropped, the devs are full speed ahead. They’re already building Prototype 3, with promises of improved map depth, smarter AI, and branching narrative events. That’s right—a full-on butterfly effect system is coming.
If you want the details, the team will be showing it all off in an upcoming dev log. Join their Discord to follow the progress in real time.
You can wishlist Hello Neighbor 3 on Steam now—and if Prototype 2 is any indication, this might be the biggest and most ambitious entry yet
