Finally, the answer to the mystery surrounding March 7th is revealed. And with it comes a new character to boot. Evernight is… well, kinda scary, honestly. Still, she answers a lot of questions while also giving a fan favorite character some much-needed limelight. But that’s all superficial puffery. The real question is, is she any good? Well, read below and decide for yourself.
Evernight is a 5-Star Ice Remembrance character who deals damage with her personal Memosprite (Evey) while also Buffing other Memosprites. She scales with HP.
While Evernight will start off combat with Evey Summoned, when using her Skill to Summon (or Heal) Evey, Evernight will consume her own HP. Furthermore, whenever either Evernight or Evey loses HP, they both have their CRIT DMG increased by 60% for 2 turns, and they gain 2 “Memoria” (that will be important later). Besides Summoning Evey, Evernight’s Skill also increases the CRIT DMG of all ally Memosprites based on her own CRIT DMG.
To keep the hits coming, Evernight’s 1st Trace Ability increases her and Evey’s CRIT Rates by 35%, while also increasing their CRIT DMG by 15% at the cost of Evernight losing 5% of her HP whenever she uses an Ability. This allows her to maintain the 60% CRIT DMG Buff without having to rely on either enemies attacking her or her Skill’s HP drain.
“Memoria” is a resource that Evernight accumulates when she uses her Skill (2), when Evey uses its Skill “Remembrance, Whirling, Like Rain” (1), when combat starts (1), if she uses her Technique before the fight starts (1), or when Evernight or an ally Memosprite uses an ability (1). When Evernight is in the “Darkest Riddle” state (which she enters after she uses her Ultimate), using her Skill will give her 12 additional points of “Memoria”. That would be a grant total of 15 from one Skill.
“Memoria” has several effects, all of which scale based off of how many stacks Evernight has. The first is that for every 4 points of “Memoria” Evernight has, Evey’s Skill (RWLR) will deal more damage. Second, when Evernight has 16 or more “Memoria” Evey will its Skill “Dream, Dissolving, as Dew”, which will consume all currently held “Memoria” and deal more damage based on the amount consumed. Evey will disappear after using this Skill.
And finally, when Evey disappears due to using DDaD, Evernight’s SPD will be increased based on how much “Memoria” was consumed. The maximum amount of “Memoria” that can be taken into account for this SPD increase is 40.
Evernight’s Ultimate can also be used to Summon Evey (though it doesn’t include the CRIT DMG Buff to all Memosprites) and deal a good amount of damage. It also puts Evernight into the “Darkest Riddle” state, which increases the damage all enemies take while also increasing how much damage Evernight and Evey do. While in this state, Evernight gains 2 Charge Points. Evey uses a Point whenever it uses DDaD. If Evernight starts her turn and she has no Charge Points, she exits the “Darkest Riddle” state.
Evernight’s 2nd Trace Ability gives her Point of “Memoria” whenever she or an ally Memosprite uses an ability (as mentioned above). It also gives her 5 Energy when this happens, as well as giving her 70 Energy and 1 “Memoria” when combat starts (again, as mentioned above).
Her 3rd Trace Ability increases the CRIT DMG of all ally Memosprites based on how many Remembrance characters are in the party, and her Technique gives her 1 “Memoria” (as mentioned above) and the effects of her Skill’s CRIT DMG Buff. Her Technique is a Buff effect, not an Initiation attack.
HP is her primary damage Stat. Since Evernight has an excessive amount of CRIT DMG, you will probably want to give her a CRIT Rate Chest, unless, of course, you get enough CRIT Rate from your Substats. That is possible since she has 58.7% CRIT Rate right off the bat. Since HP provides no Buff effects and only increases her damage, you can go for an Ice DMG Orb.
The best Cavern Relic set for her is the new World-Remaking Deliverer set. As for Planar Ornaments, go for Bone Collection’s Serene Demesne (although Arcadia of Woven Dreams does have some merit).
A good 5-Star Light Cone (assuming you don’t have her personal one) is Make Farewells More Beautiful. Long May Rainbows Adorn the Sky is also decent. As for 4-Star options, try either Victory in a Blink or The Flower Remembers.
Remembrance characters. When there are 4 Remembrance characters in the Party, the bonus CRIT DMG she gives from her 3rd Trace Ability is 65%. As such, her best team is her, Castorice, Hyacine, and RMC. If you only have 3 Remembrance characters, the CRIT DMG Buff is 50% so that is also a viable option. However, since having only 2 drops the Buff down to 15%, it would be wise to stick to building teams with 3 or more Remembrance characters only.
