With a new Fortnite season comes with a new set of story quests released periodically throughout the season. The first set of quests, called Welcome to the Wasteland give you a few introductory quests that encourage you to explore the new Wasteland biome on the map and try out some of the new mechanics.
We’ll explain how to complete all of these story quests in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3.
This is a simple one to kick things off, as both Hope and Jones are marked on the map. You don’t even need to talk to them both in the same match, so head to them whenever you’re ready to start the story quests.
This season puts a big emphasis on vehicle combat, and this quest asks you to deal a total of 100 damage to opponents by hitting them in a car. A sports car or SUV both work for this. If you drive around for a while you’ll encounter someone eventually, and as long as you line yourself up right it’s very difficult for someone to dodge your boost.
Each boost impact deals 75 damage, so two hits will be enough.
100 objects or structures sounds like a lot, but Nitro and a vehicle make it much easier. Driver through one of the big orange hoops around to infuse yourself with Nitro, then drive through any buildings or structures you can find on the map to do this one in no time.
This is much easier than in previous seasons, as to install a vehicle mod all you need to do is drive into the appropriate box, many of which are scattered across the Wasteland. There are four different types of mods, but equipping the same mod to different vehicles will still count towards your total. The Nitrodome is the easiest place to go, as it has all four in close proximity.
Note that this does not necessarily mean POIs, as landmarks constitute any notable location in the Wasteland biome. If it’s not clear, all of them are marked on your map. Containers include chests, produce boxes, ammo tins, and anything like that, so open them all to progress this quest.
Once again, these are marked on the map, and once you get close enough a second marker will appear to direct you towards them. Just interact with them to pick them up, and you’re done with this set of story quests.

The New York Jets opted to cut Aaron Rodgers and sign Justin Fields to replace him during the offseason. This kind of commitment to Fields should bolster his confidence, but it could also place a lot of pressure on his shoulders. To this point, Fields has looked solid in training camp, aside from a scary toe injury that was quickly resolved in July. Justin Fried of the Jet Press recently reported that Fields' training camp may have reached a new low over the weekend as the young signal caller struggled. "Justin Fields put together his best practice of the summer to this point on Friday, completing his first 12 passes en route to an excellent all-around performance. The same can't be said about his showing on Saturday, however," Fried wrote. "Fields finished the day an abysmal 2-of-10 in the air, including a drop from rookie tight end Mason Taylor. "Some of his incompletions were catchable balls, but the Jets' passing game struggles on Saturday can largely be blamed on No. 7. Fields did flash his running ability with a 25-yard rushing score on the first play of red-zone drills, but the Jets would like to see more consistency in the air from the starting quarterback. Saturday's scrimmage was far from his best showing of the summer." Fields is a runner first at the NFL level, but his arm is nothing to scoff at. For most of training camp, his arm talent has been better than advertised, but during Saturday's scrimmage, it just wasn't there. A 2 for 10 performance is unacceptable for a $40 million quarterback who was signed to take over the team. The running game should open up the passing game for the Jets, which is going to need to be the case if Fields is going to struggle like this. However, it's just one day of camp. It's nothing to be too concerned about. Just because Fields lost this specific practice doesn't mean he's heading in the wrong direction as a whole.
Inside Sunderland, there is growing frustration about the club's transfer activity, according to a Sky Sports journalist. Keith Downie spoke on Roker Report's Ha'way The Podcast and shared insights about the current situation at the Stadium of Light club. The mentioned reporter believes the collapsed signing of Sassuolo forward Armand Lauriente (26) sat very badly with Regis Le Bris, since the Frenchman doesn't want to give fans the image that they will start the season with the squad as it currently stands. Additionally, Downie commented that he expects Sunderland to finalize three or four more signings, bringing the total to 11 or 12 hires. Sunderland staff growing frustrated with lack of transfers, suggests Sky Sports man "I just feel there's frustration from Regis because he doesn't want fans thinking this is what we're going to start the season with. It is going to be different," began explaining Downie, in statements transcribed by the Sunderland Echo. "There has been a bit of a vacuum over the last three or four weeks where you haven't really added anyone, because the Lauriente deal fell through, until Xhaka arrived," the journalist added. "I would expect a little bit more of a flurry. Three or four more players before the end of the window, which should be exciting for you guys to see," he concluded. Recently, Sunderland have been linked with various forwards, such as Galatasaray's Baris Alper Yilmaz (25) or Leverkusen's Amine Adli (25). In recent hours, there also emerged a rumor about supposed interest from the Black Cats in RB Leipzig striker Lois Openda (25), but this was directly denied by Le Bris, who categorized this information as "false". In a move that seems faster than a speeding bullet, the new 2025 Superman movie will be available to watch at home just over a month after it hit theaters on July 11. According to multiple outlets, including World of Reel, the new Superman reboot movie will be available for video-on-demand (VOD) purchase starting very soon. In fact, the movie will almost certainly still be in theaters when you can watch it at home. Superman Streaming/VOD release date DC Studios' Superman, directed by James Gunn and starring David Corenswet, will be available for purchase digitally starting on August 15, 2025. This means that just over 30 days after its first theatrical release, the new Superman is coming home. To be clear, this is not the same as streaming on HBO Max, but it does mean you'll be able to pony up a certain amount of money (close to the price of two movie tickets) to watch the movie at home. Purchase of VOD movies generally happens on iTunes, Amazon, and other platforms. DC vs. Marvel VOD releases If this home video release seems quick, it is. For comparison, the last two Marvel superhero movies had nearly two months, not one, between theatrical release and VOD release. Thunderbolts* hit theaters on May 2, and was on VOD on July 1. Meanwhile, Captain America: Brave New World was in theaters on February 14, and on VOD on April 15. Both of those films were deemed, in the eyes of box office pundits, to be failures, while Superman is generally considered to be a success.
Jakub Lauko has flashed great potential as an NHLer, but now, the former third-round pick and current Boston Bruin is headed home after signing a new deal overseas. Back in 2018, the Boston Bruins used a third round pick on Czech forward Jakub Lauko, and after some promising seasons with the Providence Bruins in the AHL, it appeared as though they had a solid forward of the future on their hands. Since arriving in the NHL however, the 6-foot-1 centre has tallied just 11 goals and 28 points in 139 games played, and after putting up just 5 points in 18 games a season ago, many wondered if he indeed had a future in the National Hockey League. Now, that question has officially been answered, as the 25-year old has signed a deal overseas with HC Dynamite Pardubice of the Czech Extraliga, suggesting that he'll be heading home in 2025/26. While he was never a prolific scorer, Lauko was always seen as a very dynamic bottom-six player at the NHL level, but unfortunately he just hasn't been able to develop and consistently produce at the next level, and it's clear that he has disappointed in the league so far. At 25-years of age, there's plenty of time for Lauko to turn things around and find his way back to the NHL at some stage, but with the opportunity to play on the biggest stage back in his home country in a league that continues to grow in quality and popularity, he may want to spend the rest of his career there, but for now, he's got a great opportunity to do either one.
