Indie Dev Spotlight: MANGLEDmaw Games Success with Amanda the Adventurer Series

There are a multitude of reasons Amanda the Adventurer was an automatic success. Apart from having DreadXP in their corner, MANGLEDmaw Games created an absolutely amazing game in Amanda the Adventurer. It’s a spooky, thought-provoking story that brings nostalgia and horror together. When I played the first game, my most immediate thought was how nostalgic I felt playing. From producing a fake children’s show to the lore you uncover throughout the game, it took me back to childhood, to a much simpler time. If I felt that way, I know so many other players did as well. 

The game features so many intricate puzzles that interconnect with each other. And even after death, redoing these puzzles gets you different results, a truly interesting and smart choice the developers made. The game became so popular that it spawned a sequel that was released last year, with a third installment releasing next month.

Amanda the Adventurer 3 Release

During DreadXP’s Indie Horror Showcase this year, a trailer and release date were announced for the newest installment in the series. Amanda the Adventurer will continue the story of the main protagonist as they uncover the truth behind the creepy kids’ show and what happened to Rebecca, the star of the show. Amanda the Adventurer 3 will release next week, on November 6. MANGLEDmaw Games is currently only working on the Amanda the Adventurer series; however, I am excited to see what else the small developer team has planned in the coming years.
