The latest addition to the last character of a version is here. Ineffa, Genshin’s first true “robot”. If you are wondering why she is a robot, but Raiden Shogun and Wanderer are both “puppets”, it’s because robot is Czech in origin, and Ineffa, being from Nod Krai, takes inspiration from that region. In terms of gameplay, Ineffa is a well-crafted character and is highly likely to be very useful later down the line. This is a trait that she shares with Kazuha, Yelan, Baizhu, and Emilie. Don’t sleep on the last 5-Stars of a version.

How Does Ineffa Work

Ineffa is a 5-Star Electro Polearm Sub-DPS who brings with her a new Elemental Reaction: Lunar-Charged.

Upgraded Fischl

Ineffa’s main gameplay is rather similar to Fischl’s. Her Skill is a long-lasting summon (Birgitta) that deals continuous Electro damage while up, and her Burst resets Birgitta’s duration (or summons Birgitta if it’s not already on the field). Her Burst also deals a decent amount of upfront damage, but that’s not important.

The upgrade to Fischl is that, unlike the stationary Oz, Birgitta will move towards enemies, so you don’t have to worry about spacing as much. Another difference is that using Ineffa’s Skill also creates an Electro Shield, which gives her some level of sustain utility.

New Reaction, Who This?

The main draw of Ineffa is early access to the Lunar-Charged reaction, which seems to be a special type of Elemental Reaction from Nod Krai. Whereas normal Electro-Charged is a DoT that arcs between nearby enemies, Lunar-Charged summons a storm cloud that periodically fires lightning bolts at enemies who are affected by both Hydro and Electro.

Also, unlike Electro-Charged, whose damage is based on the EM of the character triggering it, Lunar-Charged’s damage is based on the combined EM of all characters involved in the reaction. It can also CRIT (where Electro-Charged can) and, if the Lunar-Charged damage is direct (such as, if a character’s Skill says “This damage is considered Lunar-Charged damage”), then it will also take into account the ATK of the character.

Quadruple Passive Power

Ineffa has 4 passives.

The first causes Birgitta to unleash AoE Lunar-Charged damage if there is a Lunar-Charged thundercloud nearby. This is an example of direct Lunar-Charged damage.

The second provides Ineffa and your active party member with a buff to their ATK and EM for 20 seconds after Ineffa uses her Burst.

The 3rd converts all Electro-Charged reactions triggered by the party to be converted into Lunar-Charged reactions and increases the damage of said Lunar-Charged reactions by a percentage of Ineffa’s ATK.

And the 4th, her Utility Passive, gives her a 30% chance to gain a seasoning ingredient when she uses food. That would be cream, pepper, salt, spice, or sugar. Also, while in Nod Krai, she can change Birgitta’s appearance somehow. We’ll have to wait for Nod Krai to see the specifics.

What to Build on Ineffa

She wants ATK, EM, CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and just a bit of Energy Recharge. Since Lunar-Charged can CRIT, you actually need more Stats than most Sub-DPS, making her build more akin to a regular DPS character.

Her best weapon is her personal Polearm. Calamity Queller and Staff of the Scarlet Sands are good 5-Star alternatives. For 4-Star weapons, go with either Ballad of the Fjords or Missive Windspear.

Her current best Artifact set is Thunderfury. However, this will probably only be a placeholder because Nod Krai is bound to have a better set when it releases, so don’t worry too much if you can’t get good pieces. You’ll be replacing them soon enough.

Who Synergizes With Ineffa

We finally have a use for Ifa and Mizuki. Both of them can be the On-Field character while Ineffa, Furina, and Oronon deal Off-Field damage. Ifa especially is good for her because he boosts Lunar-Charged damage. It can also be assumed that Aino and Flins (who are not out yet but will appear in the 1st version of Nod Krai) will have synergy with Ineffa as well.
