Komano Manato Now Playable in ZZZ

After much wait and controversy, Komano Manato is finally here. While I can understand the annoyance and frustration some people feel with him being an A-Ranked character, I’m of the opinion that having a decent A-Rank DPS is good for the game overall. Whether or not it should have been him, however, is still open for debate.

How does Komano Work

Komano is an A-Rank Fire Rupture character who burns through his own HP to deal damage.

A Passionate Heart Set Ablaze

When Komano uses his Special Attack: Return to Ashes – Sacrifice or his Defensive Assist, he will gain Blazing Heart (100 or 75, respectively). When he has 75 Blazing Heart, he enters the Molten Edge state, which consumes 3.3 Blazing Heart per second to enhance his Basic Attacks and grant him the ability to use EX Special Attack: Return to Ashes – Fall.

While in the Molten Edge state, his Basic Attack will consume HP (so long as his HP is above 30%). Consume HP in such a way, or with consecutive slashes from his Assist Follow-Up, will increase the CRIT DMG of the attack. Molten Edge also increases Komano’s CRIT Rate.

Soothing Flame

Komano has 2 methods he can use to Heal himself from his self-inflicted damage. The first is by using his EX Special Attack: Return to Ashes – Fall. Doing so will restore 33% of his Max HP. The second is through his Additional Ability (which is activated when he is in a team with either a Support or a Stun character). After using his Ultimate or being part of a Chain Attack, he will gain 8 or 4 stacks of Remnant Flame (respectively).

When using his enhanced Basic Attack or consecutive slashes from his Assist Follow-Up, if his HP is below 100%, he’ll consume a stack of Remnant Flame to restore 2% of his Max HP. The max number of Remnant Flame stacks he can possess at one time is 20, and the stacks last for 60 seconds. Repeated triggering resets the duration.
