KT has a lot of work to do if they want to stand a chance against GenG. Only Hanwha Life has won three games in a Bo5 series against GenG this year. They have started the LCK Playoffs Round 2 with a bang. Cuzz was instrumental in giving KT a 1-0 series victory, bringing them one step closer to an upset and qualification for the World Championship.
The final pick of GenG’s game one draft is Smolder. It is rare to see the dragon appear so early in a series, but it is clearly a response that GenG has. They gave over the Yunara to deokdam. Will the risk of Ruler Smolder pay off, or can KT break open the game before the dragon scales?

Cuzz, knowing how vital Canyon is to GenG’s success, came in with a plan to shut him down. The early pathing from Cuzz, confused Canyon, forced him to make a play. Canyon died, giving over first blood to Bdd. Cuzz always managed to find victories for KT, whether that be taking one grub without priority, setting up ganks, or being there to counter gank. He secured advantages for KT that allowed them to accelerate the game before Smolder came online.
Despite the leads for KT, Ruler reached his 225 stack breakpoint on Smolder. The ticking time bomb is ready to explode. However, KT did not overforce a play and waited until the ideal moment to strike. A desperate GenG forced KT to fight them on Baron. KT took that as their time to fight with Cuzz stealing away the objective and winning the team fight after Ruler died to Bdd. KT takes a 1-0 series lead.

KT has done something that they failed to do against GenG in the LCK Round 3-5: win a game. They have started to make fans believe that they can take down the unstoppable force. However, one game is not enough to win a series, and they must keep it going to earn qualification for the World Championship.
