Hanwha Life Esports needed at least one game win to advance in the LCK Cup. If the win is under 34 minutes and 33 seconds, they would move above KT Rolster in the standings. However, they could not topple Gen.G Esports, who destroyed them in the series. Gen.G finished first in their group with a perfect record, while HLE is the first team to exit the LCK Cup.

Game One Summary
Canyon hid in the bush to try to steal the first Drake away from Kanavi. However, he mistimed the Smite, and Zeka punished him for the mistake. He earned the First Blood Kill. Gen.G’s top side fails a skirmish with Kanavi and Zeus, giving over two more kills. Despite an early lead, HLE loses the Rift Herald, with all of their members dying.
HLE sends three members to kill Chovy in the bot lane. He eventually dies, but Gen.G uses the time to take the Baron. Somehow, everyone else on Gen.G lives in the 5v4 and earns themselves a kill on Delight. The game slows down until the next Baron. Gen.G wins the Baron and Cloud Soul fights, including a pentakill for Kiin. Minutes later, Gen.G ends game one.

Game Two Summary
The early game is scrappy. Canyon ganks the HLE bot lane for the First Blood. In the ensuing chase, Delight dies in trade for Canyon. Gen.G gives HLE the skirmish they want, lining up perfectly for Miss Fortune and Orianna ultimates. For the second game in a row, Gen.G earns an ace on the Rift Herald fight. All of a sudden, Gen.G has a 3k gold lead.
HLE fights back in the Third Drake fight to even out the gold. HLE catches out Canyon, which brings Duro in. Both Canyon and Duro die, allowing HLE to get the Baron. HLE manages to build a gold lead, but they do not end the game. Gen.G trades even on the second Baron fight and follows it up with a 5-0 ace. Gen.G wins the second game, putting HLE on the brink of elimination.

Game Three Draft
Gen.G Esports – Blue Side
Hanwha Life Esports – Second Pick
Game Three Summary
Both teams attempt early ganks, but do not get any kills. At 8 minutes, Zeka’s first ultimate takes him to the Bot Lane. He helps Gumayusi get the First Blood kill on Duro. The teams trade kills throughout the map, and the gold remains close. Gen.G wins the first teamfight, despite having low health bars. It goes from bad to worse for HLE. They cannot secure any of the objectives or win a teamfight against Gen.G. Even when HLE tries to trade Baron for Chemtech Soul, Canyon ults in and steals the objective. Gen.G wins the Elder Drake fight to end the series and knock out HLE.

Player of the game – Canyon
Gen.G completed their perfect LCK Cup Group battle. They did not lose a single game in their five series. At times during the series, HLE had chances to make Gen.G bleed. However, every time Gen.G shut them down in the teamfights. They were a level above HLE on every role. Kiin was phenomenal throughout, even earning a pentakill for the first time in his career. For HLE, losing to Gen.G 3-0 is not a surprise given the team’s form. However, their inability to win a game means they exit the LCK Cup.
