Act Two of the Spirit Blossom Season for League of Legends is around the corner. A new Dev update is out, detailing what we can expect during the next Act. ARAM is receiving the most significant updates with two new maps and an update to the Champion reroll system. The updates do not end there, with the confirmation of Yunara as an ADC champion and a return for Viktor Nation.
In Act Two, ARAM will have a random rotation of three maps. Howling Abyss remains, but alongside it, sees the return of Butcher’s Bridge and the addition of a Spirit Blossom-themed map, Koeshin’s Crossing. Both maps differ slightly from Howling Abyss. Butcher’s Bridge has cannons instead of Hexgates and has Power Flowers from Arena. These Power Flowers reduce cooldowns and provide a bit of shielding, but do not heal players. Koeshin’s Crossing replaces Hexgates with Portals. There are also Portals on either side of the center of the map.
One final change coming to ARAM is the introduction of Champion cards. The system replaces the ARAM rerolls and instead presents players with at least two Champions at the start of every ARAM game. Once you have selected a Champion, your unselected Champions go to the bench for others to choose. You can have up to three Champion cards at the start of the game.
Yunara is the next Champion added to League of Legends. While Riot has remained mostly quiet on the new Champion, we have vital information. Yunara is tied to Ionia and the Wydbloom, and she is a traditional auto-attack-centric ADC. In two weeks, a full reveal of her kit, courtesy of content creators who have played-tested her, will be revealed to the public. Yunara is earnable by completing a few missions and likely through Blue Essence purchase.
Riot is releasing another Metagame in Act Two. It is a 2.5D side-scrolling beat’em up with Yunara and Xin Zhao. The Metagame will allow players to experience more of the season’s story and learn more about the Wyldbloom. Players can play the entire story without having to play League matches in between. Completing the beat’em up Metagame, you will unlock the Courtyard, but it will require League of Legends gameplay to progress.
Players have the opportunity to befriend some spirits, but on a smaller scale than Spirit Bonds. By playing League of Legends and completing Champion-specific missions, players will connect with new Spirits. After earning enough favor with each Spirit, you will earn a small reward.
The new Inting and Griefing system, implemented by Riot in League of Legends, has a 99.95% accuracy rate. The success allows them to double down further on the system. They want to add better detection for more obvious griefing and punish players more aggressively for toxic behavior. These changes are targeted for Patch 25.11. Riot is working on adding a feature that will automatically end games where egregious, game-ruining behavior is detected. However, Riot wants feedback from the player base before continuing to work on the feature.
The team wants to improve the new Honor system. Once the system receives the improvements needed, players can earn Hextech chests by being highly honorable.
MSI begins on June 27th, with teams having already secured their spots in Vancouver. For the time being, MSI will have Pick’ems. There is a new way to celebrate the team that wins MSI. A week after their victory, all the skins used by the winning team will go on sale, with each role having a discounted bundle. Here’s to hoping for five games so we get the maximum skins possible.
After countless feedback on the Viktor VGU, Riot has listened. A new Viktor skin is coming later this year, in a similar design to that of old Viktor. Riot Pabro titled the skin ‘Thicctor‘. So, Viktor Nation, how are we feeling?
