Times, they are a-changing. In addition to 2 new characters, Version 6.2 of Genshin Impact looks to bring quite a few improvements to the game, which many Version 1 players will be most excited about. Spoiler warning for my own spoilers: some characters are getting Buffs.

About Genshin Impact Leaks

All leaks are subject to change. As such, a full, in-depth, definitive analysis of a character, weapon, artifact, or event would be ill-advised at this time. To that end, I’ll be covering the base-level premise of each character so that you can make a moderately informed decision on which character(s) you want to prepare for.

Durin: Flames Unending

The first true 5-Star Pyro Support character released in Genshin. And it only took them 5 years… At this point, I’m pretty sure Nod Krai is going to be the version that patches all the holes in Genshin’s gameplay and worldbuilding.

Anyway, back on topic, Durin’s Elemental Skill has 2 versions and, depending on which version you use, his Elemental Burst will have different effects. As of now, the Light version is for Transformative Reactions and the Dark version is for Amplifying Reactions.

If you want to build towards him, he’s a sword character; he uses Ballad Talent books (Mondstadt, Wednesday/Saturday), Frostlamp Flowers, and Fatui Oprichniki drops. His Overworld boss hasn’t come out yet, and he uses the corrupted sun drop from the Corrupted Dragon weekly boss.

Jahoda: Unseen Winds

4-Star Anemo Bow Support. As of now, her Elemental Skill can absorb the 4 Swirlable Elements to deal more damage, and her Elemental Burst summons 2 floating objects that damage nearby enemies and Heal the active character.

If you are looking to build Jahoda, you’ll need Portable Bearings, Vagrancy Talent books, Landcruiser drops, the Radiant Moonfly Overworld boss mats, and the rook piece from the Chessboard weekly boss.

Durin’s Sword (Name Currently Unknown)

Secondary Stat is CRIT Rate, gives passive bonus Elemental Burst damage, and an ATK Buff that activates after an Elemental Burst hits an opponent, which is further increases if you have 2 or more “witch” characters in the party (see below). This weapon requires Decarabian Tiles (Mondstadt, Monday/Thursday), Frostnight Scions drops, and Landcruiser drops (Sandrone’s mechs).

New Venti Bow (Name Yet to be Revealed)

For more information as to why Venti is getting a new Bow, see the “Character Buffs” section below. This new Bow has CRIT DMG as its secondary Stat. It also provides a Buff to Normal Attack, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst damage. This Buff can be gained in 2 ways: passively while just being Off-Field or actively while attacking On-Field. Having 2 Witch characters (see below) increases the efficiency of gaining the Buff while On-Field.

This Bow requires Dandelion Gladiator mats, hilichurl horns, and treasure hoarder coins to level up.

Event Bow (Name Not Yet Leaked)

While we don’t know the name of the bow, we do know the origins. It’s a Natlan bow, so it will require Mystic Mirrors, Tenebrous Mimiflora drops, and (oddly enough) Fatui Oprichniki drops. Guess they still want you to have to run around Nod Krai.

The Bow’s secondary Stat is Energy Recharge, and it provides an ATK Buff when the wielder’s attacks hit an enemy while the wielder is Off-Field. In other words, it’s built for Off-Field Sub DPS like… Jahoda. It’s for Jahoda. Give it to Jahoda.

Character Buffs

In 6.2, several version 1 characters will be getting Buffs to their kits. All of them, to some extent, have a connection to the Hexenzirkel, which is why the terms “Witch” and “Magic” are thrown around. The characters being Buffed are: Venti, Klee, Mona, Albedo, Razor, Fischl, and Sucrose. Durin also counts as a “Witch” character, but he’s new, so technically, he’s not getting a Buff.

These Buffs will include a new passive for each character and, in some cases, alterations to their base kit and constellations. The new passive and most of the kit/constellation changes only activate if there are 2, or more, “Witch” characters in the party.

While the full list of Buffs is far too extensive to go into at this stage, here’s a brief rundown of the new passives. Venti’s and Mona’s passives deal with their Elemental Bursts and give them both more Main DPS options. Klee’s passive is a ramping Buff that affects her Charged Attack. Albedo gets more Supportive capabilities. Razor’s increases his DPS somewhat and provides him more Energy, Fischl’s gives Bonus ATK or EM based on Elemental Reactions, and Sucrose’s provides party-wide Bonus DMG.

Event Overview

The Flagship Event is called Soulblazer’s Snowbound Journey. From the look of things, we might be headed back to Dragonspine. There are 4 minigames, one of which is a hide-and-seek game while dealing with the Cold mechanic. Way to make Wind Trace even less fun, Hoyo…

There are also 2 other Events. The first is Bing-Bang Finchball. It takes place in Natlan (specifically the Collective of the Plenty) and is effectively a pinball game. The second is Heroic Clash: Saurian Brawl. Seems to be a cooperative game with other players. Joy. I get a feeling I’m not going to be too terribly fond of this Version’s Events.

There should also be 2 new Archon Quests. Now those, I’m looking forward to. Very curious where they will go next.
