Most 2000’s gamers have fond memories of playing the LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Batman games. These collectathon platformers featured creative gameplay and charming humor. In 2022, the LEGO Star Wars games got a major overhaul with LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Now, it appears that the LEGO Batman games might be in for a similar treatment.

Will LEGO Batman Receive a Skywalker Saga Reimagining?

According to Insider Gaming, the official LEGO Game News account on X made a post that discuss some of the current LEGO game rumors. The tweet read,

“ICYM: Here’s an overall review of the 2023 TT Games RUMORS that occurred in January of that year with little more extra context.

– LEGO Disney and the LEGO Marvel Guardians Game was cancelled

– A ‘Skywalker Saga’ styled LEGO Harry Potter Game was in the pitch stage, but never went past it

– The next Game is a Skywalker Saga styled LEGO Batman that is not connected to the original trilogy (Due Spring 2026)”

In the comments, the LEGO Game News account discussed with commenters that the game would be based on the movies, probably wouldn’t include Batman v Superman, and that they weren’t sure if it would include exclusively live-action movies. However, it should be noted that although it comes from the official LEGO Game News account, none of these claims are confirmed from TT Games, the makers of the LEGO games.

About LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

While the original LEGO Star Wars games had linear levels, The Skywalker Saga expanded the galaxy into an open world and focused more on exploring different planets throughout all nine of the mainline Star Wars movies. It added voice acting and funny interactions between the different playable characters, though there was also a downloadable “Mumble Mode” for those who were nostalgic for the mumbling characters in the old games’ cutscenes. If LEGO Batman gave us an open world of LEGO Gotham to play in, there would be plenty of potential for collectibles and fun exploration, especially if you could drive the Batmobile around it.

Conclusion

While some fans might simply prefer a remaster of the old LEGO Batman games, there will definitely be an audience for this reimagining if it actually happens. After all, who doesn’t enjoy breaking apart the scenery while exploring the worlds from your favorite movies? If the new LEGO Batman game gets the same amount of love and attention as The Skywalker Saga, Batman fans might be in for a treat.
