Well, we’ve got some bad news if you were planning to finally get your hands on Lost Soul Aside this month. The stylish, long-awaited action RPG from Ultizero Games has officially been delayed. Again. The new release date? August 29, 2025—a full three months past its original May 30th launch.

And even that might not be the final stop.

From Solo Dev to Studio Saga

The game was first developed by Yang Bing as a solo project, Lost Soul Aside gained massive attention back in 2016 when the first trailer went viral. That early excitement turned the game into a flagship title for Sony’s China Hero Project, growing Ultizero Games from a one-person dream into a full-on Shanghai-based studio.

Now, nearly a decade later, it feels like we’re still waiting.

What the Devs Are Saying

Ultizero released a statement on social media confirming the delay:

“We are truly grateful for the positive response we’ve received from players all over the world… We remain committed to delivering a high-quality game experience to match the standards we’ve set for ourselves. Lost Soul Aside will now release on August 29th, 2025.”

There’s also mention of a “late September” fallback date if they need even more time to polish—so maybe keep your expectations a little flexible.

What’s Lost Soul Aside Actually About?

Here’s what we know:

  • You play as Kazer, a sword-slinging protagonist with a shape-shifting weapon system that changes your combat style on the fly.
  • You’re joined by a dragon-like companion named Arena, who tosses out support abilities and flashy summons.
  • The gameplay is heavily inspired by Final Fantasy-style design and Devil May Cry-style combat, mixing precision dodges, combo chaining, aerial strikes, and giant boss fights.
  • The world design is sci-fi-meets-fantasy, complete with multi-dimensional environments and contemporary aesthetics.

The story centers around Kazer’s redemption arc, and while details are still vague, it’s safe to assume this is one of those “learning who you really are through stylish violence” type of narratives.

Final Thoughts

Look, Lost Soul Aside has built up a lot of goodwill over the years—and fans have been extremely patient. But another delay, even for polish, stings. Especially when we’ve been watching this game evolve since 2016.

That said, if August 29 actually sticks, and the final product lives up to its promise, maybe this delay will be worth it.

Just… maybe don’t hold your breath.
