On July 15, the highly awaited and much talked about “Edge of Fate” expansion is expected to open exciting shutters that will change the face of the Destiny 2 universe. This will cause Guardians to travel to Kepler, where further dark matter planetoids impede their paths with fresh threats and uncharted capabilities. Preparation for this big event entails a more fluid transition into it and faster efficiency with its systems, giving you quite the formidable head start:
Along with these, one would also see Armor 3.0- a complete overhaul of how the character stats and gears scale, in addition to a brand-new nonlinear campaign and raid, which comes online just four days down the line. Baseline power levels reset for all players to 10. Put that level playing field to work for you, learning and understanding these changes now to take advantage of discovery as you explore the mysteries of Kepler. A neat vault is a happy vault, and “Edge of Fate” is being eyed. With new weapon and armor tiers coming, you’ll need all the space you can get. Dismantle duplicates, leaving behind only the better rolls or what can be crafted. Best dismantle the low ones or those that are well-mixed, armor, because going forward, Armor 3.0 will favour ”spiky” stats whose scaling can go beyond 100 with more effects. As for what’s left over, try checking in with Xur’s weekly offerings for any holes to fill. Legendary class items are going bye-bye, so keep only those kinds of goods that are exotics.
The prime requirement for the new gear systems is to collect upgrade materials. Zoom in on Ascension Shards, Enhancement Prisms, and Enhancement Cores. These will be required while mastering new gear and recalibrating builds because the stats have been revamped into “Weapons,” “Health,” and “Class.” Max out your Glimmer and Upgrade Modules. Bounty stacking would also be a great XP boost for the launch of expansion–especially weekly world bounties–as many of them are changing ritual bounties.
Finish up all current seasonal questlines before “Edge of Fate” comes about, since there are some episodic weapons being sunset. Make sure to grab any rolls you want before they leave the game. Any craftable weapons from Episode: Echoes should be on the list because they’re the kind that matters most in the long run. Don’t forget to cash in on any rewards from past season passes. These resources can help with your day-one progression through the expansion. If any past weapon rolls interest you, check out the Rite of the Nine weapons.
