MLB The Show 26 is getting ready for the early access to begin on Friday. With Diamond Dynasty being one of the biggest modes in the game, people are excited about all the news they can get about the mode ahead of its official launch. However, there has been a bit of an unpopular change for the Battle Royale mode. Let’s take a closer look at what has been changed and discuss why there is an uproar about it.
Battle Royale is one of the more popular modes in MLB The Show, so seeing a change in the rewards for MLB The Show 26 is a bit of a headscratcher. For those unfamiliar, Battle Royale is an online mode where you select players from a randomized group to craft your roster for a run of three-inning games.
Each draft goes until you either win 10 games or lose two. For players who are able to go 10-0 and have a flawless run in previous iterations of the game, they were rewarded with a choice of one of three bosses only available in the game mode unless they are sold. The boss pack would change every so often with who is in the pack, but things are different for MLB The Show 26.
For the new edition of the game, the flawless reward is not a player card. Instead, you will receive a voucher for 50,000 stubs. This has fans of the game mode feeling upset as it seems San Diego Studios are trying to alienate the top-tier players. While 50,000 stubs sounds like a lot, players are able to make that in an easier mode like Diamond Quest in a single run as well.
It will be intriguing to see if this public outcry will change the situation and make the developers have players in the pack as well as a choice in addition to the stubs voucher. We will find out on Friday when early access officially begins.
