The expectations for this series were that it would be the most one-sided match of the first round of the Bracket Stage. That was not the case as CTBC Flying Oystery pushed the LCK second seed to the brink. CFO’s victories were dominant performances showing that they deserve respect on the international stage. For T1, they will need to improve quickly to stand a chance of winning MSI.

Summary

Rest starts game five. The early game is tense. Doran gets a significant lead over Rest, up 900 gold and a kill. The second solo kill goes to Faker. T1 begins to break open the game as they deny CFO’s play and get two early towers. CFO finds a couple of plays, but the game is falling out of their control. Doran is 5k up at 21 minutes. Domestic Doran might be arriving on the international stage. They ended dominantly at 25 minutes to win the series.

Reaction

CFO proved that their First Stand performance was not a fluke. They deserve to be respected after this against the defending World champions. In their victories, they did not give the LCK second seed an inch, playing as if they were the favorites to win the series. Unfortunately, in game five, they crumbled. KOI should not take their series against CFO lightly. T1 bounced back in game five, but their weakness was evident, and they must improve to beat BLG.
