- Overwatch 2 Season 18: Every Damage Hero Gets a Perk Overhaul

Every hero in Overwatch 2 is getting at least one new perk for Season 18. The team wanted to replace perks that did not fit their design or ones that players did not enjoy taking. Hopefully, Season 18 sees more options for players. For the most part, one perk is a better choice than the other option. Below is the list of perks for all the Damage Heroes in Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2 Damage Perks

All the Damage perks for Overwatch 2 in Season 18 are courtesy of images from the Blizzard Press Kit.

Ashe

  • Minor Perks
    • Remote Detonator – After using Dynamite, pressing E again causes it to detonate after a 0.5-second delay. (NEW –  Replaces Rapid Fire)
    • Sidewinder – Coach Gun knocks back Ashe and enemies 12% farther.
  • Major Perks
    • Viper’s Sting – Hitting 2 consecutive scoped shots on a target deals 25 extra damage and reloads 2 ammo.
    • Airburst – Dynamite has a 40% increased detonation radius while airborne and refunds 3 ammo when thrown.

Bastion

  • Minor Perks
    • Armored Artillery – Configuration: Artillery grants 300 temporary overhealth.
    • Configuration Reload – Refresh the cooldown of A-36 Tactical Grenade when changing configurations. (NEW – Replaces Smart Bomb)
  • Major Perks
    • Lindholm Explosives – Configuration: Assault’s Weapon slowly fires explosive shells instead of a rotary cannon.
    • Self-Repair – Press E to rapidly heal yourself.

Cassidy

  • Minor Perks
    • Bang Bang – Cassidy throws a second Flashbang that travels farther, but both Flashbangs deal 40% reduced damage. (Was Major Perk that replaces Quick Draw)
    • Even the Odds – Regenerate 20 health per second for each enemy targeted by Deadeye.
  • Major Perks
    • Gun Slingin’ – Critical hits with Primary Fire reduce the cooldown of Combat Roll by 3 seconds.
    • Silver Bullet – Peacekeeper’s secondary fire is replaced with a piercing shot that inflicts bleeding. Combat Roll and Deadeye reset its cooldown. (NEW- Replaces Bang Bang)

Echo

  • Minor Perks (Friendly Imaging and Enhanced Duplication replaced)
    • Focused Rush – Focused Beam’s range is increased by 4 meters, and movement speed is increased by 10% when active. (NEW)
    • Partial Scan – Duplicate starts with 50% of its ultimate charge. (NEW)
  • Major Perks
    • Full Salvo – Sticky Bombs fires 50% more projectiles
    • High Beams – Focusing Beam eliminations reset Flight’s cooldown.

Freja

  • Minor Perks (Frost Blosts and Tracking Instinct replaced)
    • Hunter’s Instinct – Direct hits with Take Aim reveal enemies to Freja for 3 seconds. (NEW)
    • Momentum Boost – Quick Dash Distance is increased by 20%. (NEW)
  • Major Perks
    • Aerial Recovery – After using Updraft, heal for 30 health per second until Freja touches the ground. (NEW – Replaces Ready to Hunt)
    • Relentless Barrage – Direct hits with Take Aim refund 4 automatic bolt ammo.

Genji

  • Minor Perks
    • Swift Cuts – Quick Melee reduces the cooldown of Swift Strike by 3 seconds.
    • Dragon’s Thirst – Dragonblade swings gain 30% lifesteal.
  • Major Perks
    • Blade Twisting – Swift Strike deals 25 additional damage over time when used shortly after an elimination.
    • Meditation – Regenerate 35 health per second while Deflect is active.

Hanzo

  • Minor Perks
    • Sonic Disruption – Sonic Arrow hacks nearby Health Packs for 30 seconds.
    • Swift Lunge – Arrow hits reduce the cooldown of Lunge by up to 1 second, based on charge. (NEW – Replaces Scatter Arrows)
  • Major Perks
    • Dragon’s Fury – After hitting an enemy with Primary Fire, gain 25% attack speed for 2 seconds.
    • Scatter Arrows – On first ricochet, Storm Arrows split into 5 shots, dealing 33% damage, and bounce 1 extra time. (Was a Minor Perk replaces Yamagami Technique)

Junkrat

  • Minor Perks
    • Mine Recycling – Killing Blows with Concussion Mine restores one charge. (NEW – Replaces Aluminium Frame)
    • Nitro Boost – During RIP-Tire, use LSHIFT to gain a quick boost of speed. Doing so reduces RIP-Tire’s damage by 50%.
  • Major Perks
    • Bomb Voyage – After launching with Concussion Mine, Junkrat gains 35% increased attack speed for 3 seconds. (NEW – Replaces Tick Tock)
    • Frag Cannon – Frag Launcher’s projectile speed is increased by 40%, but its max ammo is reduced by 1.

Mei

  • Minor Perks (Biting Cold and Permafrost replaced)
    • Skating Rink – Allies within Blizzard gain 25% increased movement speed and heal for 50 health per second. (NEW)
    • Glacial Propulsion – Double jumping creates a small ice pillar that launches Mei into the air. (NEW)
  • Major Perks
    • Deep Freeze – Continuously hitting enemies with primary fire freezes them for a short time.
    • Cryo-Storm – Cryo-Freeze slows and deals 70 damage per second to nearby enemies.

Pharah

  • Minor Perks
    • Drift Thrusters – Pharah can move while Barrage is active.
    • Helix Shields – Convert 125 health to shields. Direct hits with the Rocket Launcher trigger passive shield regeneration.
  • Major Perks
    • Fuel Stores – Jet Dash grants 50% fuel. Maximum overfuel is increased by 100%.
    • Sky Spy – Concussive Blast reveals targets to Pharah for 3 seconds. During this, the next direct Rocket Launcher hit per target deals 30% extra damage (NEW – Replaces Concussive Implosion)

Reaper

  • Minor Perks
    • Shadow Blink – Shadow Step’s cast time and cooldown are 25% faster, but the range is reduced by 25%. (NEW – Replaces Death’s Shadow)
    • Soul Reaving – Collect Soul Globes from dead enemies to restore 50 health.
  • Major Perks
    • Dire Triggers – Use the right mouse button to fire a volley with long-range accuracy from both Hellfire shotguns.
    • Ravenous Wraith – Leaving Wraith Form grants 40% additional lifesteal for 3 seconds.

Sojourn

  • Minor Perks
    • Overcharged – Railgun’s maximum energy is increased by 50 while Overclock is active.
    • Deceleration Field – Enemies hit by Disruptor Shot are slowed by 25%. (NEW – Replaces Extended Mag)
  • Major Perks
    • Friction Generators – When sliding, Power Slide generates up to 50 energy. (NEW – Replaces Adhesive Siphon)
    • Dual Thrusters – Power Slide gains an additional charge, and its jump height shifts to lateral movement.

Soldier: 76

  • Minor Perks
    • Recycled Pulse Munitions – Helix Rockets reload 15 ammo if they damage an enemy.
    • Tactical Salvo – Helix Rockets’ cooldown is reduced by 80% during Tactical Visor. (NEW – Replaces Field Emergency)
  • Major Perks
    • Agility Training – Sprint’s speed is increased by 20% and reload can be performed while sprint is active.
    • Stim Pack – Biotic Field can be used as a Stim Pack, dealing 75 self-damage but increasing Attack Speed and Reload Speed by 30% for 4 seconds.

Sombra

  • Minor Perks
    • Encrypted Upload – Hack can be used while invisible; successful hacks increase the duration of stealth by 2 seconds.
    • CTRL ATL ESC – Teleporting with Translocator while at critical health initiates passive health regeneration.
  • Major Perks
    • Hacky Packy – Hacked health packs provide up to 50 overhealth to Sombra. (NEW – Replaces White Hat)
    • Viral Replication – Hitting a hacked enemy with a Virus spreads the Virus to enemies within 8 meters.

Symmetra

  • Minor Perks 
    • Sentry Capacity – Sentry Turret gains an additional charge.
    • Perfect Alignment – Increases the range of Photon Projector’s primary fire by 20% (Was a Major Perk, replaces Perfect Alignment)
  • Major Perks
    • Hovering Barrier – Teleporter gains the option to create a forward-moving barrier instead. Pressing E again slows down the barrier’s movement.
    • Shield Battery – Symmetra regenerates 20 shields per second while within 10 meters of her teleporter.

Torbjörn

  • Minor Perks
    • Hammer Time – Move 20% faster while Forge Hammer is equipped (NEW – Replaces Craftsman)
    • Fully Loaded – Activating Overload fully refills Rivet Gun’s ammo.
  • Major Perks
    • Anchor Bolts – Deploy Turret’s throw range is increased by 50% and it can now attach to walls and ceilings.
    • Overloaded Turret – Overload upgrades your Turret for 5 seconds, increasing its health and damage.

Tracer

  • Minor Perks
    • Blink Packs – Health Packs restore 1 Blink charge.
    • Kinetic Reload – Melee hits grant 20 ammo. (NEW – Replaces Blast from the Past)
  • Major Perks
    • Flashback – Recall restores 2 Blink charges.
    • Quantum Entanglement – Recall grant 50 overhealth and 20 ammo that decays over time.

Venture

  • Minor Perks
    • Deep Burrow – Drill Dash Distance is 50% longer while burrowed. (NEW – Replaces Seismic Sense)
    • Excavation Exhilaration – While Tectonic Shock is active, cooldowns refresh 300% faster.
  • Major Perks
    • Smart Extender – Empower Smart Excavator with E to increase its maximum projectile range by 100% for 4 seconds. (NEW – Replaces SMART-R Excavator)
    • Covered in Dirt – Dealing damage with Clobber grants up to 30 Explorer’s Resolve shields.

Widowmaker

  • Minor Perks
    • Scoped Efficiency – Scoped shots cost 3 ammo instead of 5.
    • Sniper’s Instinct – Scoped shots charge 100% faster for 2 seconds after using Grappling Hook (NEW – Replaces Focused Aim)
  • Major Perks
    • Seeker Mine – Venom Mine now fires poison darts at enemies within 10 meters and remains active after being triggered. (NEW – Replaces Deadly Deux)
    • Escape Plan – Scoped shot hits reduce Grappling Hook’s cooldown by up to 4 seconds.
