Overwatch 2: Season 17 Powered Up Trailer Sees New Tank Mythic

For the first time in Overwatch 2 history, the mythic skin and mythic weapon skin are out at the launch of a season. Reaper receives the mythic weapon Mythic, titled Steel Death. As with previous weapon mythics, Reaper’s has four levels:

• Level 1: Brutal, sharp, soulfire-infused shotguns built for lethal precision.
• Level 2: Weapons flare with dark energy as you deal damage.
• Level 3: Intricate glowing details surround your shotguns.
• Level 4: Finish foes with haunting swirled shadows and sound effects that embody Reaper’s fury.

Stadium Updates

The new season brings three new heroes and two new maps to Stadium. Sigma, Junkrat, and Zenyatta bring chaos to the game mode, while Samoa and Esperança become new Stadium battlegrounds. The new season brings Stadium Forge to the game, allowing players to create, share, and save builds. All players will be affected by a rank reset, and we can play Stadium in Custom Games.

Map Voting

Map voting is arriving in Season 17 of Overwatch 2. Upon entering a match, players will get a random selection of three maps to vote for. A vote for a map adds a 1-10 chance for that map to be chosen. Voting remains private, so do not stress about others knowing your choice.

New Map Aatlis

The new Flashpoint map, Aatlis, shows the beauty and culture of Morocco. The trailer and dev article showed us some sneak peeks into what we can expect from the Moroccan map coming in Season 17.

Overwatch 2 Season 17 Skins

Plenty of skins are coming in the Season 17 battle pass and in the shop. Players can earn 8-bit Reinhardt, Genji, Sombra, Delinquent Cole Cassidy, Professor Fawkes Junkrat, and Sakura Ana from the Battle Pass. The Ultimate Pass bundle grants two extra skins in the form of Principal Lacroix Widowmaker and Professor de Kuiper Sigma. Earn Epic 8-bit Orisa and Zenyatta skins from the Free battle pass. Plenty more skins will become available from the shop.

Overwatch 2 Events and Game Modes

Players can earn 4 Epic Loot Boxes, with a guaranteed Legendary skin at the end of unboxing, by completing 17 matches in Quick Play, Competitive, or Stadium. The event runs from June 24th to 30th, so do not miss out on these awesome rewards!

Last but not least is the Hacks & Hijinx game mode that runs from July 15th to 28th. Sombra has hacked into the matrix to bring this limited-time 6v6 game mode filled with various modifiers like low gravity or health packs that give ultimate charge. The game mode will only take place on Control maps.
