Overwatch 2 x Street Fighter Collaboration Skin Reveal Causes Community Uproar

The leaks for the next Overwatch 2 skin collaboration are confirmed. The Evo Japan championship event revealed the partnership between Street Fighter 6 and Overwatch 2. Eight heroes are getting Street Fighter skins, more than the usual four to six heroes they choose for these collabs. Some heroes are favorites for Blizzard to give skins to, while others have not appeared in collaborations.

Overwatch 2 x Street Fight Collaboration

The collaboration sees eight heroes getting skins in Overwatch 2. Two Tanks, three DPS, and three supports are included for the skins.

Sigma, Winston, and Hanzo receive their first collaboration skins. Kirko and Juno are moving ahead of others, getting more collab skins than most of the hero roster. Notably, Mei is missing from the collab, with many expecting her to appear as Chun Li.

Overwatch 2 x Street Fighter Collaboration Date

The collaboration skins get released in Overwatch 2 on May 20th, just under two weeks away. That should be the same date as the midseason patch, which will see new balance changes and Freja’s addition to the Stadium game mode. 

Final Thoughts

While others might be upset to see more Juno and Kiriko skins in Overwatch 2, it is a selling point for Blizzard, and this is one of the best ways for them to ensure each collaboration is worth it. The Winton enjoyers finally get a collab skin, something they have been craving for some time now. Seeing eight skins total is a strange occurrence, and we now wonder if this is something we can expect going forward or if this is exclusive to this collaboration.
