What is Shadow Raid Day?

Shadow Raid Day is all about taking on Shadow Regigigas in Five-Star Shadow Raids. The official Pokémon Go announcement lists some great perks for players:

You can use Remote Raid Passes for Shadow Raids for the first time.
There’s a boosted chance to find a Shiny Regigigas.
Spin Gym Photo Discs to grab up to five extra free Raid Passes.
The Remote Raid limit jumps to 20 from May 16 at 5:00 p.m. PDT to May 17 at 8:00 p.m. PDT.
Regigigas caught during the event might have better stats.

Shadow Raids have a challenge: Shadow Regigigas gets enraged, and you’ll need Purified Gems to calm it down. You make these gems from Shadow Shards, earned by beating Team GO Rocket. This is a Five-Star raid, so it’s tough. You’ll need at least four to six players to win. Team up with friends or find groups online using tools like Poké Raid or Discord.
