With the end of Version 5 fast approaching, it’s time to start looking forward to what the future will hold for Genshin Impact. The next region is the land of ice and snow, Snezhnaya, ruled by the formidable Cryo Achon, the Tsaritsa (name as of yet unknown). Despite being the home of several prominent and oft-encountered factions, we know very little about Hoyoverse Russia. Still, there are some things we do know, and with that scant knowledge, we are able to make a few educated guesses.
Based on what’s been coming out, I’d hazard a guess that we are going to start out in Nod Krai and then slowly move towards the capital of Snezhnaya. This makes some sense since it’s effectively the international port of the region.
As of now, the Tsaritsa has 6 of the 7 Gnosi (I know that it’s Gnosises but I don’t care). If she manages to somehow get her hands on the 7, which is held by Mavuika, she will be in a position to start her war against Celestia in earnest.
As such, were I in the Tsaritsa’s, presumably spectacular, high-heeled shoes, I’d do everything I could to try and keep the Traveler out. It could be that the storyline for Version 6 is that we have to recruit allies to help us break into the capital.
We know very little about the Cryo Archon. We don’t even know her domain, although the general speculation is that she was the God of Love. Taking that into account, as of now, we can only guess at her ability. As such, I’m assuming that she is going to be either Sword or Catalyst.
If I were to speculate on her abilities, I think her Elemental Skill will be her blowing a kiss. The way I have it in my head is she presses her hand to her lips, then holds it out, palm up, towards the enemy, and blows out a massive amount of freezing mist. I subscribe to the slime theory, so I’m guessing that her similarity is summoning mist.
As for her Elemental Burst, that’s harder. We’ve seen almost everything from all the other Archons. As of now, I think I’ll go with a Debuff of some kind. That’s one of the only things we haven’t really seen yet.
Regarding her motives, my original opinion was that she lost her lover during the Cataclysm, and that’s what set her off. But, with what scant information we have about her, I think it would be more likely that she lost her child/children. It would explain why she’s so permissive of the Harbinger. She’s replacing her lost children. This would also fit in somewhat with the fairytale of The Snow Queen.
As of now, I’m not sure we will be getting all 10 of the remaining Harbingers as playable characters. And yes, I’m still counting Capitano as remaining. Let me dream! Still, I’m going to proceed based on the assumption that we do.
Captiano will of course be a Cryo Sword character, I wish he was Claymore but, at this point, I’ll just be happy if he’s playable. Dottore has been hinted at being a Claymore character, which is interesting if true. Assuming it is, I’d expect him to be either Hydro or Dendro. For Columbina, I see an Anemo Polearm.
We already have Arlecchino, so moving on to Pulcinella, I think he’s going to be a Sword wielder with either Hydro or Cryo powers. Best guess for Sandrone is Bow Electro, and for Pantelone, I see Catalyst Geo.
Oh, and we can’t forget Pierro. I see him as either Polearm or Catalyst. If he has a standard element, I think it will be Cryo. If he doesn’t, then he might have some sort of Khaenri’ah magic that we haven’t been introduced to yet.
As revealed by the “Song of the Welkin Moon” Event, there are 11 factions in Nod Krai that we will meet. As of now, we already know 5: The Fatui, the Adventures’ Guild, the Treasure Hoarders, the Knights of Favonius, and the Hexenzirkel. As for the remaining 6, we’ve been given a little bit of information on them.
They are the descendants of the legendary golden realm. Where exactly this golden realm is, or what exactly the Frostmoon Scions are, remains a mystery. It seems that they do have some power of light, as it was they who taught the Lightkeepers how to repel the Wild Hunt. It’s possible that they are particularly potent Seelies.
They guard Nod Krai against the Wild Hunt, assumedly by using light in some way. I’m assuming they are rather like the Mililith or the Knight of Favonius. Since it says that they specifically look after Nod Krai and not all of Snezhnaya, I’m also assuming that The Wild Hunt is not an issue for the rest of the Nation. Maybe the Tsaritsa keeps them at bay with her ice powers.
Abyss monsters. Probably going to be our newest enemies to fight. I expect that they will be annoying unless we utilize some sort of special mechanic.
This one is going to be trouble. It’s a merchant guild, and when it comes to anything money-related in Snezhnaya, my mind immediately goes to Pantalone. While the boss of the Guild seems to be someone else, that doesn’t mean she isn’t working with him.
I think it’s safe to assume that they are the same race as Klee and all the other pointy-eared characters. At least we finally get a name. And they served the original Cryo Archon. Perhaps they were his familiars? We’ll have to see. Not much is known about them yet.
This faction, too, gives me pause. It’s a machine workshop with a somewhat prickly lady in charge. That just screams Sandrone, who is, at this point, probably the most unhinged of the lot.
We don’t really know too much yet, but if I were to give it some thought, I think the story, at least for the initial release, would be about helping out the Lightkeepers. It’s highly likely that the Knights of Favonius have also decided to help out.
Through our work with the Lightkeepers, I assume we will end up meaning all the other factions. And then, after we accrue enough goodwill with them, they will help us get into the capital. After that, it’s anyone’s guess what happens next.
