As a massive thank you to the community for sticking with the game, you can now find a cat hanging out at the entrance to the checkpoint or lounging in your quarters.

Now, before you panic, because let’s be honest, in a game like Quarantine Zone, anything that moves is usually trying to kill you, let me put your mind at ease. This cat is not infected. It does not bite. It is simply there to judge you silently as you make life-or-death decisions.

But here is the best part: it reacts to you. You can interact with this new feline companion using your tools, and yes, you can pet the cat. In a world gone mad, taking five seconds to scratch behind the ears of a digital kitty might just be the serotonin boost you need to survive another day.

However, if you are the type of monster who hates joy (or maybe you just have allergies), the developers have you covered. You can actually toggle the cat on or off in the Main Menu under Settings. So, if you prefer your Quarantine Zone experience to remain strictly professional and devoid of purring employees, you have that option. But really, who would do that?

Safety First: New Sterile Gloves Added

Moving on to something slightly less adorable but infinitely more practical. A valid question was raised by the community recently: “Why on earth is the main character running around a hazardous environment in fingerless gloves?”

It’s a fair point. Fashion is great and all, but exposed fingertips seem like a bold choice when you are dealing with biohazards. The devs heard you loud and clear. With this patch, Quarantine Zone now allows you to equip a brand-new pair of sterile gloves.

You can select this new glove skin in the main menu, ensuring that your hands remain as protected as your sanity. It is a small detail, but one that adds a nice layer of immersion (and logic) to the game.

Patch Notes: What’s Fixed in Quarantine Zone?

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper update without a laundry list of fixes. The team has been hard at work squashing bugs that have been pestering players. Here is a breakdown of what has changed in this latest Quarantine Zone patch:

Added cat to checkpoint: The most important update, obviously.
Added glove skin: Selectable in the main menu for those safety-conscious players.
Gamepad Sensitivity: You can now adjust this in Settings, which is a godsend for controller users.
Day 13 Bulletin Board Fix: That annoying softlock preventing progress? Gone.
Evacuation Info Fix: Fixed a bug where the notification would show “-1 day” the day after evacuation, confusing everyone.
Temperature Display: The symptoms tab in the lab will now correctly display Celsius instead of Fahrenheit.
Survivor Profiles: Fixed an issue where duplicate symptoms would appear in the same slots.
Steam Deck Fixes: The cursor should no longer disappear during the base building tutorial.
Tablet Functionality: The right trigger (controller) and left mouse button will no longer incorrectly trigger the tool in hand while using the tablet.
Sleep Notification: Removed the prompt telling players to go to sleep immediately after waking up. We all love a nap, but that was ridiculous.
Tool Switching: Removed the ability to switch tools while accessing the tablet.

What’s Next for Quarantine Zone?

The team has stated unequivocally that they will not stop here. Other documented problems in the Quarantine Zone, like the inability to run after utilizing the lab and FOV problems on ultrawide screens, are being actively addressed. Patience is essential because it takes time to make sure these fixes function properly for everyone.
