Riot Reveals a New Summoner’s Cup for the 2025 World Championship

The 2025 World Championship in China is rapidly approaching. Riot announced that, with the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the event, they are redesigning the Summoner’s Cup to a familiar look. Along with a new Summoner’s Cup, Riot revealed who is the voice behind the World’s anthem, a tease for the World’s Music Video, and lastly who will perform at the Finals Opening Ceremony in Chengdu.

Riot’s Iconic Summoner’s Cup

Riot has revealed the third edition of the Summoner’s Cup trophy. The previous edition, designed by Tiffany and Co., stood for three years. They are returning to a similar design to that of the first edition. They have decreased its total weight and made it less dangerous for players (looking at you, Zeus). The Cup will arrive in Chengdu, delivered by Mercedes-Benz, the automotive partner of LoL Esports.

The World’s Anthem and Finals Opening Ceremony

G.E.M. is the singer behind the World’s Anthem, which will be released on October 10th, a few days before the beginning of the World Championship. G.E.M. is an iconic Chinese Singer and Songwriter. She will also perform during the Finals Opening Ceremony alongside Anyma, Chrissy Costanza, and TEYA. They will perform on November 9th at the Dong’an Lake Sports Park Multifunctional Gymnasium in Chengdu.

World’s Music Video Tease

The World’s Music video is one of the most highly anticipated aspects of every World Championship. Last year’s Music Video was sung by Linkin Park, titled Heavy is the Crown. It showed T1 defending their throne, players and teams vying for the trophy. Riot did mention that the Music Video will focus on the history of professional League of Legends, displaying the iconic moments, players, and teams that have “defined League Esports since 2011.

Twelve teams have already booked their ticket to China. The teams must still fight for seeding, while five more spots are available across three regions. The qualified teams with their minimum seeding are:
