Obol Squad is finally starting to get a little more love. Originally, it was only Soldier 11. Then came Soldier 0 – Anby and Trigger. Now we have Seed and (so enough, Orphie and Magus). What once was the least fleshed out faction is now taking center stage.
Seed is a S-Rank Electric Attack character from the Obol Squad faction. She works best when you have another Attack character in the party.
The Attack character with the highest initial ATK in the team is considered her “Vanguard”. When Seed uses an EX Special Attack, she will Buff her “Vanguard’s” ATK and CRIT DMG. When the “Vanguard” uses an EX Special Attack, she will gain a Buff to her ATK and CRIT DMG. Both Buffs can exist simultaneously and, when they do, both characters will deal increased DMG.
Furthermore, when Seed deals damage as the active character, she will restore 2 Energy to her “Vanguard”.
Seed’s special resource is called Steel Charge, which she gains when she spends Energy, when her “Vanguard” spends Energy as the active character, when she hits enemies, or when she uses her Ultimate. Once Steel Charge reaches a certain threshold (120), she can either Hold the Attack Button or use her Ultimate to consume 60 Charge to perform a powerful punch with her Mech. She can then consume another 60 Charge to follow-up with a down punch.
Seed’s EX Special allows her to simultaneously move around and attack, which consumes Energy. Once enough energy is consumed, her Mech will launch a quick punch. You can also release the EX Special to fire a single cannon blast instead.
Seed’s Ultimate rains down a barrage of missiles and gives her 60 Steel Charge after use.
Since she gets a lot of CRIT DMG from her Core Passive and her Core Skills, a CRIT Rate Disc Drive (DD) 4 is probably the best option. Apart from that, go for an Electric DMG DD5 and ATK DD6. Her best DD set is Dawn’s Bloom 4 and Thunder Metal 2.
If you can’t get her personal W-Engine, the best S-Rank option is The Brimstone (though Severed Innocence can work in a pinch). For A-Rank, go with either Drill Rig – Red Axis or Cannon Rotor.
Soldier 11 is the easiest to place, since their Additional Abilities line up with each other. That said, you can use most Attack characters with Seed, though you’ll have to make sure the 3rd position is filled with someone who can synergize with their Additional Ability. The only Attack character that doesn’t work with her is Hugo.
