The start of the Edge of Fate expansion had mixed reviews from the Destiny 2 community. As time has passed, the feeling surrounding the game has dropped significantly. The tone deaf announcements and a lack of fast-paced changes have caused a massive drop in playtime. At least with the most recent This Week in Destiny post, there is a bit of light for the community to hold onto going forward.

Destiny 2: A Positive Portal Change?

The TWID today has shown that Bungie is listening to feedback from its players. Many have complained that the upper echelon grind from 400 to 450 takes too long and is based on RNG. While players will need to reach 550 in Ash and Iron, from 500 to 550, each Portal activity completion grants a +1 increase over your base power. The grind will still be longer than the rest of the leveling, but at least there is more control over the grind.

Destiny 2 Dungeon Lairs are also coming to the Pinnacle Ops hub. Three Dungeon encounters are being added:

  • Pit of Heresy: Beneath the Necropolis
  • Duality: Nightmare of Gahlran
  • Warlord’s Ruin: Hefnd’s Vengeance

Completing these dungeons will grant new portal rewards. Fortunately, players can turn on a modifier to earn old dungeon loot. However, whether the dungeon loot is tiered is not confirmed.

Destiny 2 Raid Updates Are a Mixed Bag

The updates for the Epic Raid are a mixed bag for players. The positive news first is the stream requirements for the World’s First Desert Perpetual Raid Race. The stream requirements for players to win World’s First are as follows:

  1. Streaming is required, but only one member has to stream.
  2. The stream must be on YouTube or Twitch.
  3. VODs must be available on the stream.
  4. Teams must use a Bungie-designed overlay to cover portions of their stream.
    1. Self-branding can be edited into the overlay
  5. The streaming team member can not blackout the stream and can only use the provided overlay as cover.
  6. Game audio must be on at all times, but players may mute their voice audio.

The pejorative announcement from the Destiny 2 TWID regarding raid updates is the change to the date of the Epic Raid. To ensure that the race runs smoothly, Bungie has delayed the World’s first race by a week. While this gives them more chances to fix any potential issues, it has one flaw. Most players have taken time off from work or made plans around it to ensure they can compete in the race. However, given the short time frame between now and the race’s new date, it is nearly impossible for those players to reschedule or change their days off. The change has infuriated players and dampened an otherwise positive TWID.
