Subnautica 2 – All Biobed Adaptation Locations (Endurance & Dexterity)
Image via TheGameSlayer | Unknown Worlds Entertainment

Subnautica 2 has a lot on offer, even for a game in early access. You can spend hours swimming these alien seas and miss plenty of things.

Even in co-op, you’ll probably end up glossing over some small hole and miss something really important. Arguably, one of the most important is the Biobed Adaptations, which give you bonuses.

There are two kinds: Endurance, which increases your inventory space, and Dexterity, which gives you more tool slots. Currently, there are seven in total, five Endurance and two Dexterity.

All Endurance Biobed Adaptation Locations

The Endurance Adapted Biobeds will likely be what takes you the longest to find, given how separated out they are. If you can find any materials along the way, you should snag them.

Everything in this guide will assume you have built a base near the Lifepod. The distance from the Lifepod will be shown in the images and noted for each Biobed.

The order you do them in is totally irrelevant, so get whichever ones you end up near while you’re out exploring.

Sophie’s Retreat Biobed

Sophie’s Retreat is actually decently hidden from sight, but you’ll find yourself over by it while hunting down one of the recordings to the north.

Regardless, you can head straight over to this one anyway, as it’s not too dangerous. You’ll probably want a distraction flare or two just in case some fish want to get chummy.

About 450m north of the Lifepod, you’ll spot a large human structure that will have some goodies inside to scan. Head past that until you’re almost off the cliffside.

From there, if you look to your left, you should see a hole in the side of the wall. Go inside, and you’ll come across the entrance to Sophie’s Retreat, where you can grab the Endurance Adaptation.

Quaker’s Meetinghouse Biobed

This should be one of the easier ones to find; in fact, it may be the first one you find. This one has a recording near it that you have to pick up to progress the main story quest.

About 235m southeast of the Lifepod, you’ll come across a fairly large rock structure. It may have a Coral Crab walking around it, but it also has a large rock sticking right out of the middle of the structure.

If you’re coming from the Lifepod, you should see an entrance on the left side of the structure. Go through that entrance and keep right to arrive at the Bunker and Biobed.

Unauthorized NOA Modification Biobed

This one is decently far and can be a little tough to get to because you’ll be diving a little farther than most. Make sure to get some upgraded oxygen, or it’ll be tough surviving down there.

It’s approximately 250m south-by-southwest from the Lifepod. You’ll know you’ve arrived when you see a large metal structure hanging over the side of a cliff.

Just past that structure, look straight down, and you should be able to make out the entrance to this Bunker. Head inside to collect your goodies and get a nice breath of fresh air.

Anita’s Garden Biobed

This one isn’t too far away or too deep, so you can hit it fairly early on in the game. Finding this one just involves a bit of investigative work, since you’ll probably pass right over it.

Heading northwest of the Lifepod by about 200m, you’ll see some lights near the entrance into a rock. If you’re coming from the Lifepod, it’s on the opposite side of where you’re coming from.

This one is easier to find at night or with the lights off, since the illumination will clue you in. Night can be pretty dangerous, but don’t be afraid to risk it for this Biobed reward.

Cicada Wreck (Empty Hold) Biobed

This is where things start to get a little hairy. To get this one, you’re either going to need a ton of oxygen or the Heat-Resistant Upgrade to keep you from burning through it too quickly.

The Cicada Wreck here has a plethora of things in it, so if you can stay to check out some of it, you’ll probably be better off for it.

At the farthest distance of nearly 475m dead east of the Lifepod, you’ll find this insanely large crash site. It’s tough to miss, but you might think it’s impossible to get inside.

Along the side of the structure, you’ll see some black metal bars that you can pass through and get inside. From there, just head left, and the first door on your left contains your prize.

Once you’ve found all these, you’ll have a significantly large number of spaces in your inventory. It’ll increase from 20 items up to 35, which is super helpful.

All Dexterity Biobed Adaptation Locations

While the Endurance Adaptations are notably very helpful, the Dexterity upgrades are nothing to sneeze at. These will give you two additional tool slots, bringing you up to a total of seven usable items.

This can be really great, especially early on, but regardless, you’ll want to hunt these down. They’re simply too helpful to leave out in the open without getting.

Salvage Bunker Biobed

The significantly easier of the two to get is the Salvage Bunker Biobed. Once you start venturing a little farther from the Lifepod, you’ll need to get the Digestion upgrade, and this is right nearby.

Sitting at just over 200m away from the Lifepod is the entrance you’ll be looking for. The best thing to do is head for the Digestion upgrade Angel Comb and head northeast of it just a bit.

Just by a small desk, you’ll see a small hole with blue and purple flowers in it. Head down it as deep as you can and follow the man-made lights, you’ll be able to find the entrance you need.

Nahema’s Lab Biobed

Image via TheGameSlayer | Unknown Worlds Entertainment

This one isn’t so easy, and much like before, you’ll need the Heat-Resistant Upgrade to ensure you don’t burn away all your oxygen. Otherwise, you need to make sure you can survive this environment.

At around 380m southeast of our lovely Lifepod, you’ll find what you’re looking for. You’ll pass directly by the Meetinghouse location you saw earlier and head for the edge of this biome.

Just past that ledge and towards the floor of this area, you’ll spot a crack in the wall to the north. Head inside there, and you’ll be able to grab your final Biobed for now.

The game might get updated or changed at some point in the near future, given that this indie game is in early access. Don’t forget to check back at some point in case there are any changes.
