In The Blue Prince, there are rooms that have an orange border, and those are…not particularly interesting, BUT that doesn’t mean they’re useless! These orange border rooms are Hallways and they work as the connectors within the estate. They don’t normally have a lot going for them, but we don’t hold that against them, as they are still important to estate planning. One great thing is that some of them branch off in different directions!
Why is this a great thing, you may ask? Well, they have their own little quirks just like the other colored prints in The Blue Prince! These, specifically, allow you to work dead ends (the more annoying of the rooms) into your estate planning without them interrupting your whole flow! So, you can draft further into the estate but have the option of having side rooms!
So, if you accidentally summon Draxus when in the observatory (unless you’re doing a Gift Shop or Showroom run, then by all means make Draxus your bestie), here’s to hoping you have the RNG to draft a few hallways to mitigate the dead-end nightmare that will occur.
Here are the Hallways you’ll see in The Blue Prince:
Name | Type | Rarity | Function |
Hallway | Hallway | Common | Just a regular Hallway |
West Wing Hallway | Hallway | Standard | Only drafts on the Westside of the Estate |
East Wing Hallway | Hallway | Unusual | Only drafts on the Eastside of the Estate |
Corridor | Hallway | Common | The Corridor is always left unlocked |
Passageway | Hallway | Common | Costs 2 Gems |
Secret Passage | Hallway, Dead-End(-ish) | Unusual | Leads to a room color of your choice. Costs 1 Gem |
Foyer | Hallway | Unusual | Hallways Doors are always unlocked. Cost 2 Gems |
Great Hall | Hallway | Unusual | Contains 7 Locked Doors |
While many players of The Blue Prince find the Hallways sort of annoying as they don’t have much value in terms of items (with some taking some items away *glares at the Great Hall*). If you play your drafts right and the RNG gods take pity on you then Hallways can help you traverse the estate without hurting your in-game wallet.
