Now that the Nintendo Switch 2 is out, people can speculate about what future games might arrive on the shiny new console. While we can safely expect games like a new mainline Mario game, a new Animal Crossing, and a new Super Smash Bros., some others might not be guaranteed, even if the public is begging for them. Here are five sequels that need to be on the Nintendo Switch 2.
The Luigi’s Mansion trilogy has gotten better and better with each game. Making Luigi a Ghostbuster was an act of genius, so it would be a shame to have the series stop at three entries. Luigi’s Mansion is one of my personal favorite Nintendo series, so I long for my man Luigi to don the Poltergust 3000 again and go chasing ghosts with the help of Professor E. Gad, Polterpup, and Gooigi. Perhaps the Switch 2’s mouse controls could be integrated into the game, making catching ghosts a more tactile experience.
The Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games series has been dormant since 2020, and it’s been even longer since we’ve gotten a Winter Games entry in the series. With the Olympic Games coming to Milano and Cortina in Italy next year, that would be a perfect time to revive the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games series. We could get more characters, more events, and a story mode that takes the characters around Italy.
Princess Peach got a lead role for the first time in years with Princess Peach Showtime! While some criticized the game for being too easy, it was still a creative romp through a stage show world. A sequel could address the criticisms by upping the challenge level. Moreover, Peach could perhaps work together with other Mario ladies such as Daisy, Rosalina, and Pauline. Nintendo, make it happen!
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is obviously one of the most anticipated games for the Switch 2, but let’s not forget the series’ side-scrolling roots. Since Metroid Dread was such a hit on the original Switch, it would be a shame if the Switch 2 didn’t receive a 2D Metroid game. With the Nintendo Switch 2’s advanced specs, a new 2D Metroid could be made even more immersive and creepy than the previous entries in the series.
The first Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker was a fun little puzzle game that could really challenge the mind with its isometric labyrinths. It ended up being referenced in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and even in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, so why isn’t there any talk of a sequel? Perhaps a sequel could involve multi-screen levels where Toad has to traverse through different screens to find treasure. With the Switch 2’s mouse controls, the player could interact with the environment in more sophisticated ways. Seriously, why haven’t we heard anything about a sequel? It’s begging to happen.
Whether or not any of these sequels will happen remains to be seen, but the Nintendo Switch 2 is off to a strong start with its record-breaking sales. Its library will definitely be full of memorable titles. Now, it would be nice if I could actually get my hands on a Nintendo Switch 2. I’m still on the waitlist.

Henrietta’s Hideaway is a location you’ll be visiting more than once in Hogwarts Legacy. There are multiple quests to be solved in this area, including Find Rococo, Solved by the Bell, an Astronomy Table, an Infamous Foe, and this quest, Hippogriff Marks the Spot. You’ll start this quest in an entirely unrelated location, and even when you’re in the right place, the answer isn’t clear. For everything you need to solve Henrietta’s Map, follow our instructions below. If you want to catch or breed a Hippogriff, make sure to read our beast locations guide. Make sure to read through our other Hogwarts Legacy guides for everything you need to know about the game, including puzzle solutions, item locations, and more. For information on the Hogwarts Legacy controversy surrounding J.K. Rowling and the game, read our explainer. How to find Henrietta’s Map – Hogwarts Legacy The first thing we need to do is start the quest, if you haven’t already. You can begin this quest at Poidsear Castle – it’s a map sitting on a desk in a tent near the back of the castle. The Side Quest icon should be hovering over it to draw your attention. Solving Henrietta’s Map – Hogwarts Legacy Once we have the map, we need to solve it. First is quite obviously a literal map, with an X marking the spot, and an illustration of where we need to go. It is Henrietta’s Map, so it makes sense that this quest would take place in Henrietta’s Hideaway to the South of Manor Cape. There’s also a Hippogriff surrounded by flames, with a flame and ice icon near them. The flame obviously indicates the use of your fire spells, and the ice icon hints at using Glacius. Hippogriff Marks the Spot solution – Hogwarts Legacy Right, so we need to enter Henrietta’s Hideaway. Once you arrive at the castle you’ll find a dungeon entrance down to the right side of the ruin. Inside there’s a quick and easy puzzle involving fire and ice spell blocks. As the main door opens, you will come face to face with a Hippogriff statue surrounding by burning braziers. First you will need to extinguish the flames around the Hippogriff. Next, you will need to light only the braziers indicated by Henrietta’s Map. These are as follows, when facing the Hippogriff: Rear of the Hippogriff Left of the Hippogriff Right of the Hippogriff Right front side of the Hippogriff Once those braziers are lit, a wall will open up at the back, revealing a chest with an item inside. Hippogriff Marks the Spot rewards – Hogwarts Legacy For your efforts you will receive Treasure-Seekers Gloves as an appearance option. Nice if you’re after the Treasure-Seekers appearance set, I guess.
The World Junior Summer Showcase is in full swing, and Maple Leafs top prospect Ben Danford is shattering expectations, truly proving how good of a player he can be. The Toronto Maple Leafs' defensive prospect, Ben Danford, is among the 44 players who were invited to Hockey Canada's World Juniors Summer Showcase. Hockey Canada finally unveiled the 44 prospects who will head to Minnesota for the showcase, after they held the roster release back while the organization dealt with several injuries, which begins Sunday and runs through August 2 in Minneapolis. Defensive prospect Ben Danford is the only Maple Leafs player invited to the annual showcase, where Canada's World Junior staff will get their first look at what their team might look like for the 2026 World Juniors, which will also take place in Minnesota in December. Danford is being called the best player at the World Juniors Summer Showcase Danford has been exceeding expectations, and one source revealed that he has been the best player at the World Junior Showcase so far. The source said Danford is steady, smart, and hard to ignore on the ice. 'Ben Danford has been the best player at the World Junior Showcase he's steady, smart, and impossible to ignore. Makes every shift count, whether he's breaking up plays or starting the rush. Canada's blue line is in good hands.' - An unnamed source The Maple Leafs selected Danford with their first pick (31st overall) at the 2024 NHL Draft. During his visit to Toronto's development camp earlier this month, the defender revealed that he's receiving mentorship from current Leafs defensemen as well as some alumni like Mark Giordano. The 6-foot-2 Danford could make for an excellent fit for Canada should he make the team. He is responsible in his own end, and he demonstrated leadership capabilities when he was named captain of the Oshawa Generals ahead of the 2024-25 OHL season.
The Boston Bruins have been under pressure to retool after a disappointing season, and now a potential blockbuster move could shake the entire NHL. A major trade proposal has surfaced that could send a star goaltender to the Edmonton Oilers, a move that would give them the elite presence they've lacked in net while forcing Boston closer to a rebuild. The deal being floated by multiple outlets would send Edmonton's current starter, Stuart Skinner, along with Matthew Savoie, Beau Akey, and a 2028 first-round pick to Boston, while the Oilers land a goaltender capable of changing their Cup window overnight. Edmonton's push for a franchise goalie could reshape the Western Conference and challenge the Dallas Stars' path to the Cup If this trade goes through, the Oilers would instantly address one of their biggest weaknesses, setting up a showdown with teams like the Dallas Stars, who already see Edmonton as one of their toughest rivals. Boston, on the other hand, would fully commit to a rebuild, pairing Joonas Korpisalo with Skinner in what could be one of the NHL's weakest tandems, likely boosting their draft lottery odds in one of the most hyped draft classes in recent memory (NHL.com). An insider noted, "They weren't the only ones who had inquired about Swayman, but yes, I was told they poked around." That comment shows just how wide the interest is for this level of goalie talent (Heavy.com). I think this kind of trade would completely shift the balance of power in the West, making Edmonton even more dangerous for teams like Dallas, who could end up facing a vastly upgraded Oilers team in the playoffs. If Boston truly embraces a rebuild, moving their top goaltender could be the first domino in a massive roster overhaul, something that could shake the market for weeks.
The New York Yankees got the win Tuesday night, but Anthony Volpe’s stat line told a more complicated story. The 24-year-old shortstop launched his 15th home run of the season, the longest of his career, in a 7–5 victory over the Rays at Yankee Stadium and also committed his American League-leading 15th error. One swing of the bat, one misstep in the field. That’s been the story of Volpe’s 2025 season. “He’s really, really good out there,” manager Aaron Boone said postgame. “But he’s clearly had some struggles… a little indecisive with that last throw. We can’t be indecisive there.” Boone was visibly frustrated when asked if he might give Volpe a day off to rest his mind. “I’m not gonna answer that now,” he said. Volpe, to his credit, didn’t duck from the moment. “I know what I’m capable of,” he said. “It’s frustrating. It’s not discouraging. I know the standard I have for myself. I’m just going to keep pushing to improve every day.” This is new ground for Volpe, who won a Gold Glove in 2023 and had never committed more than 17 errors in a full season. Now, with two months left to play, he’s almost matched that number and leads the AL in miscues. Offensively, he’s held his power. Tuesday night, his 452-foot home run was the longest of his career. Through 105 games in 2025, Volpe is batting .216 with a .283 OBP, 15 homers, 57 RBI, and 12 stolen bases. But he’s also carrying a .694 OPS and a rising share of fielding lapses. The Yankees, already missing Aaron Judge and juggling a battered rotation, don’t have the luxury of letting Volpe work through this quietly. Amed Rosario is able to handle shortstop for a game here and there and they still do have Oswald Peraza on the roster to give Volpe a day to clear his mind. Boone, however, is adamantly behind Volpe. Brian Cashman has made it clear he is, too. Part of what they love is his work ethic. The Yankees are betting that Volpe will find his way out of this.
