As the Nintendo Switch 2’s release date draws nearer and nearer, people are excited to play the games. However, in all the hype for Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, other Switch 2 games might get left behind. Here is a list of what the Nintendo Switch 2 will have to offer in 2025.

The Nintendo Switch 2’s Launch Titles

I covered the launch titles in their own article, but let’s briefly go over them again. Here are the games that will be available at the Switch 2’s launch on June 5, according to Game Rant.

  • Mario Kart World. You might have heard of this game a few times. I also might have written one or two or twenty articles about it. This latest entry in the legendary series will be attracting millions of gamers to its open world and unlockable costumes.
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
  • Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour.
  • Cyberpunk 2077.
  • Hogwarts Legacy.
  • Split Fiction.
  • Street Fighter 6.
  • Hitman World of Assassination: Signature Edition.
  • Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster.
  • Survival Kids. After years of hiatus, the Survival Kids series is returning with four-player co-op play.
  • Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut.
  • Deltarune Chapters 1 + 2 + 3 + 4. On the Nintendo Switch 2, you can play the sequel to Undertale with two brand new chapters.
  • Civilization 7: Switch 2 Edition.
  • Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time.
  • Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess.
  • Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S.
  • Fortnite.
  • Arcade Archives 2: Ridge Racer.
  • Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma.
  • Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening Complete Edition.
  • Fast Fusion.
  • Sonic x Shadow Generations.

Later Releases

These games will be released later in 2025.

  • Tamagotchi Plaza (June 27).
  • Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4  (July 11).
  • Donkey Kong Bananza (July 17). Aside from Mario Kart World, this might be the most anticipated game for the Switch 2. Donkey Kong will get to smash his way through an open world in this new adventure.
  • Shadow Labyrinth (July 18).
  • Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV (July 24).
  • Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar (August 27).
  • Kirby and the Forgotten World + Star Crossed World (August 28).
  • Daemon x Machina: Titanic Scion (September 5).
  • Pokémon Legends: Z-A (October 16). The beloved Pokémon series will be getting a game that adds some new features to combat and training.
  • Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (TBA). Fans have been waiting patiently for this game for years. Hopefully, we only have to wait a little bit longer to go adventuring with Samus again.
  • Kirby Air Riders (TBA).
  • Drag x Drive (TBA).
  • Witchbrook (TBA).
  • Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition (TBA).
  • Borderlands 4 (TBA).
  • Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment (TBA). The third game in the Legend of Zelda spinoff series, Hyrule Warriors, this game gives us a prequel to Tears of the Kingdom. As an added bonus, it’s a rare Zelda game that gives Zelda the starring role.
  • Hades 2 (TBA).
  • Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (TBA).
  • Hollow Knight: Silksong (TBA).
  • Two Point Museum (TBA).
  • Goodnight Universe (TBA).
  • Marvel Cosmic Invasion (TBA).
  • Star Wars Outlaws (TBA).
  • Reanimal (TBA).
  • Human Fall Flat 2 (TBA).

Conclusion

The Nintendo Switch 2 has a full lineup planned for this year. However, what’s noticeably missing is a new mainline Mario game. While fans of the iconic plumber can get their fix with Mario Kart World, it seems strange that Nintendo has yet to announce a new mainline Mario game for their shiny new console. Perhaps 2026 will be the year for Mario to go on a new adventure.
