The Outer Worlds 2: Complete Guide to Finding and Managing Pets

Most pets can be purchased from various vendors across the galaxy, but one can be acquired for free by completing a short side quest.

Lucy the Crabble

• Location: Crabble Farm, Paradise Island
• Cost: Free

You can recruit your first pet without spending a single Bit. Head to the Crabble Farm in the southern part of Paradise Island. There, you’ll find a sick Crabble named Lucy. Speak with the rancher, Casey, to learn she has an upset stomach from eating a box of Purpleberry Krunch. You can help Lucy by using a Trauma Kit, having at least 5 points in your Medical skill, or, if you have the Dumb trait, by feeding her even more Purpleberry Krunch. Once she’s feeling better, you can invite her to live on your ship.

Hover Drone

• Location: Hazel’s Automated Wares and Repairs, Paradise Island
• Cost: 1,000 Bits

Also on Paradise Island, you can find a mechanical companion. Visit Hazel’s Automated Wares and Repairs in the eastern part of the island and speak to the robotic vendor. You can purchase the Hover Drone to have it zip around the Incognito.

Zyranium Mantiwasp

• Location: Fort Endurance, Golden Ridge
• Cost: 2,000 Bits

On the planet Golden Ridge, make your way to Fort Endurance in the northern region. Inside, you’ll find an Auntie’s Choice weapon shop run by Bonnie the Battlefront Barker. In addition to weapons, she sells a contained Zyranium Mantiwasp.

Raptidon Juvenile

• Location: Esplanade, ACS Undisputed Claim
• Cost: 4,000 Bits

The Auntie’s Choice headquarters, ACS Undisputed Claim, is a hub for commerce, including pet sales. Visit the Unrelated Bric-A-Brac shop in the Esplanade area. The vendor there sells a young Raptidon for you to adopt.

Gold Canid

• Location: Esplanade, ACS Undisputed Claim
• Cost: 5,000 Bits

At the same Unrelated Bric-A-Brac shop on ACS Undisputed Claim where you find the Raptidon Juvenile, you can also purchase the Gold Canid. This loyal, metallic canine is the most expensive pet, but a worthy addition to your crew.

Crabble Hatchling

• Location: LaPlace’s Garden, Cloister
• Cost: 3,000 Bits

If you want another Crabble or missed out on Lucy, you can buy one on the icy planet of Cloister. Find the Order Purveyor Elwood in LaPlace’s Garden, and he will sell you a blue Crabble Hatchling accustomed to the cold.

Premium Edition Sprat!

• Location: Automatically added to your ship
• Cost: Purchase the Premium Edition of The Outer Worlds 2

This unique pet is available exclusively to players who own the Premium Edition of the game. It will be waiting for you on the Incognito from the start.

Managing Your Pets on the Incognito

Once you have recruited a few pets, you’ll find them wandering around your ship. However, only one pet can be active and visible at a time. To switch between your companions, head to the ground floor of the Incognito and find the room with the lockers and a Workbench. In this room, you will find a Pet Feeder. Interacting with the Pet Feeder allows you to select which of your acquired pets you want to have out and about on the ship. And yes, you can pet them!
