Week 3, Day 3, last day of LTA North Best of One matches, 100T vs SR. 100T’s score is 5-2, while SR is 2-4. 100T is playing on the blue side, SR on the red side. The team roster for 100T is Sniper (top), River (jungle), Quid (mid), FBI (carry), and Elya (support). For SR, the team is Fudge (top), Contractz (jungle), Palafox (mid), Bvoy (carry), and Ceos (support). For specifics regarding early, mid, and late game, see the Terms at the bottom of the page.

Champion Selection: Ban Targeting Galore

100T focus their initial bans on top and mid, taking Rumble, Jayce, and Yone out of contention. SR opt to use 2 of their bans to target FBI, banning out Kalista, Varus, and Vi.

The first pick is Azir for 100T. SR counter with Taliyah and Xin Zhao. 100T then pick Naafiri and Miss Fortune. SR close out the first pick phase with Ezreal.

During second ban phase, both sides target the support role, removing Nautilus, Poppy, Rell, and Alistar from the board.

SR’s next pick is Leona. 100T responds with Rakan and Gnar. SR wrap up Champion Selection with a Malphite pick. 100T’s team favors high mobility and lockdown, while SR have opted for a strong engage comp.

Team comps are: 100T – Gnar (top), Naafiri (jungle), Azir (mid), Miss Fortune (carry), Rakan (support) vs. SR – Malphite (top), Xin Zhao (jungle), Taliyah (mid), Ezreal (carry), Leona (support).

Early Game Highlights: LTA North Present Riot’s Farming Simulator

Nothing happens. All farming, no conflict. At the end of the early game, 100T has the gold lead (by 100 gold) but SR has more farm.

Mid Game Highlights: The Creeping Rot of Hesitation Starts to Take Hold

Nothing happens until 100T starts Voidgrubs. Contractz investigates, gets caught out, and gives over First Blood to River (who, like any good dog, abandons Grubs to give chase). In retaliation, Palafox almost kills River, but Quid saves him. Though low, River then goes back to Voidgrubs and takes them with Eyla’s help.

River invades red side top jungle and is caught out. The kill goes over to Fudge. There is a 1v1 in bot lane between Sniper and Palafox. Palafox manages to survive thanks to Flash.

River starts the 1st Drake (Inferno). SR converges to try and stop him. SR wins the ensuing fight 2-1 but River still manages to take the Drake. Afterwards, River starts the 2nd Voidgrubs. 100T hover around but don’t fully engage, allowing River to take the Grubs.

The rest of mid game is just farming, scouting, warding, and posturing. This time, the gold lead is in SR’s favor but 100T has more farm.

Late Game Highlights: Bad Choices Lead to Big Consequences

Late game starts out with Fudge engaging Quid 1v1 in top lane. Their fight turns into a 4v3 in favor of SR. In the end, Quid dies to Palafox. While this is happening, Sniper is split-pushing bot lane, leading him to take the First Turret.

River manages to take Rift Herald without incident. Quid goes top and takes down the second turret for his team while Fudge and Contracz secured the 2nd Drake (Cloud) for theirs. The game then enters a prolonged state of posturing with no full engagements.

Eventually, 100T breaks the “peace” by dropping Herald in the mid lane. Everyone converges, the outer mid turret survives, and everyone backs off. Afterwards 3 members of SR head bot and claim their first turret. Another prolonged period of posturing, farming, and warding begins.

Soon after it spawns, SR starts up the 3rd Drake (Chemtech). They manage to take it and escape without too much issue (a blast cone was used to help facilitate their evacuation). 100T immediately starts the Voracious Atakhan. SR returns and tries to stop them. Ends up being a 2-2 trade. 100T still manages to take the objective, though Bvoy almost steals it with his Ult.

While waiting for Baron, everyone takes part in the vision war. When Baron does spawn, 100T starts it up almost immediately. SR hovers nearby, only engaging when Baron is at about 50%. The fight is 2-0 in 100T’s favor thanks to the Atakhan revive but Baron has to be aborted.

100T immediately make their way back to Baron and start it up again. SR throws out some poke but ultimately chooses not to commit, allowing River to take the objective. 100T group up around Dragon Pit. More posturing from both sides.

Eventually, 100T starts the 4th Drake. SR hover around but don’t commit, again, so 100T takes the objective. Now, with Baron Buff still active, Sniper split pushes mid and takes the first inner turret, while the rest of his team sieges bot lane. Elya engages under turret. River and Sniper try to come in from above, but Sniper ends up getting locked up. The fight ends up going 2-1 in 100T’s favor and they take the turret.

After taking the turret, 100T split up. Quid goes top, is caught out, and killed in a, rather excessive, 4v1. 100T capitalizes on this by going mid lane breaking open SR’s base. As 100T backs away, Fudge Teleport in. A full 5v5 breaks out as 100T is chased into bot river. Fudge only hits 2 people with his Ult. In the end, only Sniper dies, with Ceos taking the kill.

As a result of this prolonged chase, however, minions end up taking SR’s mid inhibitor. As SR attempts to clear up their base, 100T starts the 2nd Baron. SR starts to head over there and 100T back off. More posturing ensues.

Palafox and Fudge start up the 5th Drake but back off when 100T starts up Baron again. Both teams dance around the objective. Eventually, River secures it. A choatic fight follows, which 100T wins 5-0. Off the back of this, 100T ends the game. The final kill count is 13-9 in 100T’s favor.

Post Game Analysis: The Engage Team Never Engaged

100T ends the game at 35:38 (longest game of the day) with a gold lead of 9.4k. Despite drafting an engage comp, SR chose not to go in several times, allowing 100T to take objectives carte blanche. Another issue was that, on the few occasions they did engage, Fudge was unable to hit several optimal targets with his Ult and his team did not provide him with enough follow-up to secure a win.

Furthermore, towards the of the game, SR overcommits to 2 different fights (4v1 vs Quid and chasing 100T down bot river). Both of these actions lead to ruinous consequences. First, the base turret goes down to 100T, then the inhibitor is lost to minions. While 100T did fail to capitalize on some of their advantages, SR made several ill-advised decisions, which ultimately cost them the game.

100T’s win secures their position as the number 3 team, with only FLY and C9 ahead of them. SR’s loss doesn’t change much for them as they were already 1 win ahead of DIG and DSG and 1 win behind LYON. They end this round in 6th place.
