TL’s roster is Impact (Top), Yuuji (Jungle), APA (Mid), Yeon (Bot), and CoreJJ (Support). 100T’s roster is Sniper (Top), River (Jungle), Quid (Mid), FBI (Bot), and Eyla (Support). For more information on what Early, Mid, and Late Game means, see Terms at the bottom of the article.

Game 1: A Comeback in Day 2 of LTA North

The 1st set of bans take out Yone, Varus, Poppy, Pantheon, Gwen, and Azir from the equation. The 2nd set removes Rakan, Alitar, Jhin, and Senna. TL’s comp is very pick-oriented, with them picking up Rumble (Top), Vi (Jungle), Taliyah (Mid), Ka’Sai (Bot), and Rell (Support). 100T’s draft, on the other hand, is all about engaging and pursuing. They draft Sion (Top), Trundle (Jungle), Oriana (Mid), Lucian (Bot), and Braum (Support).

A gank to Mid at around 2:45 results in APA giving over 1st Blood to River. Despite this proactivity by 100T, it’s TL who claim the 1st Drake (Ocean) after they successfully gank Sniper under the Bot Lane Turret. TL secures 1 of the Voidgrubs before backing off, leaving the remaining 2 for 100T to claim. The Early Game ends with 100T ever so slightly ahead in gold (by 300) and the kill score dead even at 1-1.

The mid-game starts out with a fight for the 2nd Drake (Cloud). 100T are able to secure it, but TL are able to kill River in response. A fight for Rift Herald sees the score rise to 4-3 in 100T’s favor, though no one is able to secure the objective. TL ends up taking it while 100T claims the 3rd Drake (Chemtech) to end the Mid Game.

CoreJJ gets caught out, leading to his and Yeon’s deaths. Several more kills go over to 100T, raising their score to 7-3. They are also able to secure the Atakhan uncontested as TL trade it for 2 Turrets. The 4th Drake is taken by 100T, who also wins the fight that follows. The score is now 10-3.

As both teams set up for Baron, a fight breaks out. TL is able to pick off both of 100T carries. 100T are forced to back off, leaving TL free the claim the Baron uncontested. A failed attempt to catch out Yeon leads to FBI and Sniper dying and TL securing the 5th Drake. They follow this up with 3 more kills, which gives them an opening to break open 100T’s Base through Mid Lane and take an Inhibitor.

TL engages 100T in the Mid Lane with a pincher move by Yuuji. The fight goes 4-0 in TL’s favor. While APA chases Sniper around the map, the rest of TL swarm 100T Base and end the game at 31:27 with a 9.8k gold lead. The final score was 14-10.

The 1st set of bans take out Ziggs, Pantheon, Aurora, Gwen, Varus, and Azir from the equation. The 2nd set removes Tahm Kench, Rakan, Aatrox, and Poppy. 100T draft a comp with good lockdown and scaling as they choose K’Sante (Top), Jarvan IV (Jungle), Viktor (Mid), Senna (Bot), and Nautlis (Support). TL for more hard engage and wombo combo potential with Renekton (Top), Wukong (Jungle), Annie (Mid), Ezreal (Bot), and Alistar (Support).

Just like in Game 1, River ganks a lane when he hits level 3. This time, it’s Top Lane, Impact gives over 1st Blood to Sniper. TL responds with a kill of their own on to Eyla in Bot Lane. TL also secures the 1st Drake (Ocean) uncontested. Yeon dies to Sniper in a 1v1 fight in the Bot Lane. Like with Game 1, the Voidgrubs are split. This time, however, it’s 1 for 100T and 2 for TL. The small skirmish that breaks out over the Grubs sees the score raised to 4-2 in TL’s favor.

CoreJJ dives FBI under the Mid Turret. Though they both fall in the end, since is Support for ADC, TL comes out better. 100T are able to secure the 2nd Drake (Mountain) uncontested. Despite TL’s pestering, 100T are also able to secure the Rift Herald. In the ensuing fight, TL is able to win out 3-2.

The 3rd Drake (Cloud) goes over to 100T too, but TL chase them down, grabbing 3 kills to 1 death and taking the Outer Mid Turret to bot. The mid-game ends with TL ahead in gold by 3.5k and the score (11-6) in their favor as well.

Sniper chases APA through the Bot Lane, ends up being the one who dies when 3 other members of TL arrive. 100T sends 4 members to the Bot Lane to kill Yuuji and then use Rift Herald to take the Turret. TL starts up the Atakhan. When 100T arrives to try and contest, TL uses a pincher maneuver to pick up 3 kills for nothing. They then rotate back up and take the Atakhan.

Now in control of the map, TL are able to strangle 100T’s vision and take the 4th Drake uncontested. Eyla catches CoreJJ out in the 100T Red Side Jungle. This leads to TL collapsing onto 100T and ACEing them. TL uses this opportunity to take to claim Baron uncontested, take the Base Mid Turret, and claim the 5th Drake uncontested.

By playing the map and rotating effectively, TL are able to take both the Mid and Bot Inhibitors, even without Baron Buff. As TL continues to siege the 100T Base, Eyla steps out of position and dies. With the game now a 4v5 for the next 43 seconds, TL set the sights on 100T’s Nexus. After getting 5 more kills, TL ends the game at 34:34 with a gold lead of 14.3k. The final score was 28-9.

Post Series Analysis: TL Punish 100T’s Aggression

In Game 1, while 100T was able to garner a lead during the Early and Mid Games. However, TL were able to pull off an excellent play that killed off both of 100T’s carry, gaining them Baron and control of the map. Meanwhile, in the 2nd Game, TL were able to punish 100T many overreaches.

Effectively, the series went to TL because they were able to find the right angles to counter 100T overconfidence and aggression. 100T continues to have a problem with closing out games. Once the Late Game hits, they start falling apart.
