Tormented Souls 2 is officially out now on PC and console for all players to experience the horror of Villa Hess. The original protagonist of the first game returns in this installment on a quest to find her missing sister Anna. Indie developer Dual Effect had also released a new launch trailer for the game yesterday, and here’s all you need to know about the game.

Tormented Souls 2 Synopsis

Tormented Souls 2 is a direct sequel to the first game, which follows Caroline Walker, a woman searching for her missing sister Anna. Caroline travels to the remote town of Villa Hess to try to free her sister from an affliction that causes her to hallucinate and those hallucinations to manifest into reality. However, in the process of all this, Anna goes missing, and Caroline wakes up alone. Now, Caroline must try to find her way out of this nightmare, find her sister, and fight off Silent Hill-esque creatures and a cult that has full control over the town.

New Launch Trailer

With the game officially out since yesterday, the developers have also dropped a new launch trailer for the game. The trailer starts off showing how both Caroline and Anna end up in Villa Hess, and how they end up separated. Caoline is drugged, then wakes up, stabbed with needles all over her body. As she’s traversing the town, she also meets a man named Miguel, who is also searching for someone in Villa Hess.

The trailer features many of the locations of the game, the different monsters and cultists you’ll come across throughout the game, and even shows some of the gameplay. This game is puzzle-heavy and shows Caroline wielding different weapons, like a shotgun or a nail gun. The trailer also shows the new quick select feature that will allow her to switch weapons more efficiently while in combat. Tormented Souls 2 was released yesterday, and already critics are raving about the game. It is currently on sale on Steam for $26.99, but if you’re unsure about buying it, you can also download the free demo to try out the first hour and a half of the game.
