Warframe developer Digital Extremes’ new fantasy MMO Soulframe will have a familiar voice in the cast of characters. Jennifer English voiced Shadowheart from Baldur’s Gate 3, Latenna from Elden Ring and Maelle from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. English will voice Soulframe’s Alora, the Empress of Eldveil. So far, she is the only confirmed voice actress for the game.

“Greetings, Envoys,” English said during the dev stream. “I had the strangest dream, you see, of a fairy who spoke in threes. She told me thus, ‘Beyond the veil from whence I hail where all is Fey and flora, I’m growing weak and cannot speak, so I’ve a question for ya. Lend me your voice – you haven’t a choice – soon, they’ll call us Alora.’ And, naturally, I said yes, and we simply cannot wait to meet you.”

When Can I Play Soulframe?

Soulframe doesn’t have a release date yet, but the developers plan on releasing the game in 2026. The fantasy MMO had a queue of over 850,000 players wanting to play the game’s Prelude test. The game’s alpha is open for those who sign up on their website. The developers will inform players of when the next alpha build is open for testing.

The game was announced in 2022, following the short-lived first-person shooter The Amazing Eternals which came out in 2017. When referring to Soulframe’s themes, Nathan Grayson of the Washington Post, wrote, ““Soulframe’s” world, as proposed, might be its most interesting character. The game will focus on themes of nature, restoration and adventure as inspired by works like “Princess Mononoke” and “The NeverEnding Story” — specifically, the collision between industry and nature. In service of that, the world will show its displeasure toward players who occupy it.”

What’s Warframe?

Warframe is the long-running sci-fi MMORPG by Digital Extremes. The game came out in 2013 and is available on all major platforms and iOS. The game has over 80 million players and was reviewed by the late YouTuber John “TotalBiscuit” Bain. The developers took Bain’s advice, which brought many improvements to Warframe. They paid tribute to Bain after his death from cancer in 2018.

Warframe has 62 standard Frames, 47 Prime Frames and 10 Protoframes. The only Warframe not available is Excalibur Prime, who was exclusive to people who paid for the game’s Founders Package to fund the game during its early days. The game has an expansive world, plenty to do during the endgame and the ability to style your Frames via a wide array of accessories, emblems and colors.
