Welcome to Friday Eve and more free games to fill your time this weekend. Once again, the Epic Games Store has two titles available for PC gamers, and one of them is available for mobile as well! I’m here to fill you in so you can decide if you need to head to the Epic Games Launcher right away. Don’t miss out!

Make Way – Silly Racing With Your Friends

MAKE WAY – How to Make Way | Extended Gameplay Trailer Courtesy of Secret Mode

This week’s PC-only selection is Make Way, developed by Ice Beam and published by Secret Mode. The game is described as a “classic, top-down, multiplayer racing shifted up multiple gears.” You can play with up to six people on one screen or online. It supports cross-platform play (yay!), so you can play with friends on other supported platforms. Make Way is also available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. It was released in December 2023. It’s been nominated for awards and, on Steam, it has a Very Positive review rating for both recent and all reviews.

Make Way has very interesting gameplay. The players assemble race tracks before the race from randomly selected pieces. Then you race your friends and, if you fall off the track, you just respawn at the next checkpoint and keep going. The track assembly process looks chaotic! Some pieces have traps and obstacles, and everyone is trying to place pieces at the same time. Then there are the vehicles. In the video, you’ll see such a variety of cars, boats (yes, boats with wheels), and even a flying saucer (with wheels, of course).

The game looks silly and fun. So get all of your friends to grab this one from the Epic Games Store for your next video gaming party!

Machinarium – Because Robots Have Feelings Too

Machinarium – Official Trailer Courtesy of Amanita Design

Machinarium is the story of a little robot from a world populated solely by robots. His girlfriend has been kidnapped, and he has been dumped in the scrap yard. What is a robot to do? He sets out to make things right! This game is adorable, thanks to its 2D hand-drawn art style and simple animations. There aren’t any long dialogues. The characters communicate through cute thought/speech bubbles. And the music is enchanting too. The trailer alone was enough to make me want to download this game now.

Josef, the main character, must navigate a series of obstacles and puzzles to find Berta, free her, and eliminate the evil Black Cap Brotherhood robots while saving the city. That’s a lot for one little robot to do! It’s no wonder he needs a hand.

After claiming Machinarium from the Epic Games Store launcher on your PC, go get it on the Epic Games Store on mobile store as well!

How to Claim Freebies From the Epic Games Store

Whether you want to play on your PC or your Android (or iOS) device, you can find the download information on the Epic Games Store website. If you’re on a PC, you can download the Epic Games Launcher, and then you can download your games and play them on the PC. I know, I know. That’s not exactly shocking, and you probably figured that out already.

For the mobile games, you’ll need the QR code. Use the camera on your mobile device to scan the QR code, which will direct you to the download page. You will have to enable downloads from other sources. (Other than the native app store, that is.) Because this app isn’t available from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Once you’ve installed the app, launch it, sign in, then scroll down to find the current free game.

And that’s what we have for you this week! Check back next week, and we’ll highlight the new game offerings from the Epic Games Store. We’re staying on top of the latest gaming news so you don’t have to worry about any FOMO.

Happy gaming!
