Where To Discover All 3 Silk Hearts In Hollow Knight Silksong

If you’re roaming around Pharloom in Hollow Knight Silksong, spending silk in battles like a madman but running out of it at the worst possible moments, you’re not alone. Your Silk Spool winds up empty because you’re continuously fighting bosses that mean business with a low solid-hit rate. Silk Hearts are the answer to your problems—these three rare upgrades automatically regenerate one notch of Silk when you’ve completely drained your Spool.

What are the Silk Hearts?

Silk Hearts help refill the player’s Silk Spool, automatically rebuilding silk. Hornet’s Silk Skills are absolutely crucial for survival—especially Bind, your healing mechanism. Your Silk Spool grows each time you land a successful attack, but in the heat of battle, it can be difficult to land a successful blow. They can buy you more time and save your life when you run out of silk.

If you collect all three, you’ll have three automatic Silk regenerations available during combat. This might not sound like much, but it’s a game-changer. The strategic placement of these hearts is parallel to the game’s increasing difficulty. It’s a solid game ability that rewards thorough exploration while ensuring you have the tools needed for the challenges ahead. Those moments when you’re completely out of Silk and one swing away from death will be no more.

Hollow Knight Silksong Silk Heart Locations

Silk Heart #1: The Bell Beast Reward

Your first Silk Heart comes from defeating the Bell Beast in The Marrow region. Sounds straightforward, right? Well, there’s a catch (because of course there is). To even reach the Bell Beast, you’ll need the Silk Spear ability first. Head right from Bone Bottom and climb upward to find a crossroads, but you’ll quickly notice those annoying, large silk strands blocking your path. You can’t break through these without the Silk Spear, which means you’ll need to make a detour to Mosshome first.

Once you’ve got the Silk Spear, come back and clear those strands. Fight your way to the top of The Marrow and take on the Bell Beast. After you’ve defeated it, you’ll see a large orb of Silk left behind. Touch it, and congratulations—you’re being whisked away to a realm of pure Silk. (No, really.)

In this bizarre Silk dimension, you’ll need to climb crumbling platforms. Move quickly before they fall apart beneath you, and keep going until you reach a solid layer with a lever. Attack the lever repeatedly to raise it upward, then continue climbing to the very top. Your first Silk Heart awaits at the summit.

Silk Heart #2: The Secret Surgeon’s Discovery

This one’s trickier and won’t become available until Act 2. You’ll need to have reached Whiteward and obtained the Clawline ability before you can even think about attempting this. First things first: grab the Surgeon’s Key. You’ll find it in Whiteward at a specific location that requires the Clawline to access. Once you’ve got the key in your possession, head to the southwest side of Whiteward, just above the Underworks area. Look for a trap door—that’s where you’ll use the Surgeon’s Key.

What’s behind that door? Only a secret boss fight against The Unravelled. This boss isn’t part of the main story progression, making this Silk Heart technically optional (but really, who wants to skip free regenerating Silk?). Defeat The Unravelled, and the second Silk Heart is yours.

Silk Heart #3: Face Your Past at The Cradle

The last Silk Heart is tucked away at the end of Act 2 and is being guarded by Lace. In The Cradle, you must face this skilled sword master so as not to miss it as you journey along. Lace is a dangerous but vital foul because she serves as one of the game’s climactic encounters. Once she is defeated, claim the third and final Silk Heart. With this, you have the complete silk regeneration ability, AND be rewarded the rare achievement called Regerated.

Final Thoughts: Wind the Spool

While it might be tempting to rush through the main story, taking the time to hunt down all three Silk Hearts will make your journey through Pharloom considerably less painful. The second heart from The Unravelled is technically optional, but passing it up means giving up a huge advantage in the game’s later sections. Your future self will thank you when you’re facing down one of Hollow Knight Silksong’s tougher bosses with those extra regenerations in your back pocket. Happy hunting, and may your Spool never run dry at the wrong moment.
