The LCK Playoffs Finals rematch kicked off the Bracket Stage of Worlds 2025. The storylines for the series were too numerous to count, but the focus was on Peanut’s Last Dance versus Chovy’s first Worlds title. It would be Chovy that reigned supreme over Peanut in this series. GenG Esports claimed a 3-1 victory over Hanwha Life Esports. The series could have gone either way, but GenG would produce the clutch factor to advance to the Semi-Finals.

Worlds 2025: GenG Esports Versus Hanhwa Life Esports

Summary

The first game of the series was just the appetizer for what was to come. The fighting between both teams was exceptional. There was rarely an occasion where a team did not have someone dead after a fight ended. Duro would be the decider on his Neeko finding the ultimates GenG needed to close out game one.

Game two was the longest of Worlds 2025 so far. After nearly an hour of League of Legends, GenG finally cracked the nexus. Summing up the game is almost impossible, but it kept everyone on the edge of their seat throughout. Viper was instrumental in keeping HLE alive, but could not bring them over the line. Chovy had the clutch factor at the pivotal moment to stop HLE’s push, which allowed them to stabilize.

Game three would be the most dominant victory of the series. HLE came with a clear draft plan and executed it to near perfection. They controlled the game from start to finish, and we saw the return of Delight’s Rakan.

Unfortunately, HLE was unable to send the series to Silver Scrapes. They fought valiantly, but the game got away from them before Viper’s Smolder became unlocked. The threat of the Dragon meant GenG did not end straight away, but it was inevitable. GenG advances to the semi-finals of Worlds 2025.

Peanut’s Last Dance

Peanut has played his final series before his mandatory military service. The League community is filled with emotions as he will not be participating in the professional scene for the near future. He is the final player from the ROX Tigers roster to retire. He leaves with the second-most domestic LCK titles, only behind Faker. Lifting the Summoner’s Cup will elude one of the greatest junglers of all time.

Chovy’s Hunt Continues

Chovy and GenG advance to the semi-finals for the second year in a row. They will await the winner of KT Rolster and CTBC Flying Oyster, which takes place tomorrow.
