For the first time in a long time, Movistar KOI left an international tournament with their heads high. Even though they had a disappointing beginning to Worlds, they recovered. They had moments in their losses where it seemed like they could win. However, the weakness of MKOI this year has been their inability to close out games. That was evident against KT Rolster and T1.

Worlds 2025: Movistar KOI Player Reviews

Mywrn

Total Apex rating – 4.7 (16th among top laners, 80th among players)

Champions Played

  • K’Sante (3)
  • Ambessa (2)
  • Ornn (2)
  • Jax
  • Mordekaiser
  • Sion

In the latter half of the season, we saw fewer of Mywrn’s counterpicks. At Worlds, it was even lower. His craziest pick was Mordekaiser, but that became a mainstay in the meta for Worlds. Mywrn alternated between stable performances and disastrous ones. Had he stayed consistent throughout Worlds, MKOI might have had a better chance. He often bled out too much for the rest of the team to patch.

Elyoya

Total Apex rating – 6.6 (tied 4th among junglers, tied 14th among players)

Champions Played

  • Qiyana (2)
  • Trundle (2)
  • Wukong (2)
  • Xin Zhao (2)
  • Jarvan IV
  • Naafiri

Elyoya at Worlds was the best-performing European player at the tournament. Alongside Jojopyun, he was the pivotal point for MKOI’s successes. Some can point fingers at his mistakes against G2 Esports. For the rest of the series, he led his team. Even against the likes of Cuzz and Oner, Elyoya held his own. Unfortunately, he would miss the final smite of his tournament, giving T1 Elder Drake. However, they were likely losing the game anyway.

Jojopyun

Total Apex rating – 6.3 (7th among mid laners, tied 22nd among players)

Champions Played

  • Cassiopeia (2)
  • Orianna (2)
  • Taliyah (2)
  • Ahri
  • Galio
  • Kassadin
  • Ryze

Jojopyun started slowly on the Spanish roster. However, he gained speed as the year went on. His dominant display against Team Secret Whales showed how far he has come this year. He won lane every time against Dire, even winning as Ahri against Aurora. In MKOI’s loss in that series, Jojo was the pivotal piece that TSW needed to kill to win. Unfortunately, he did not show the same level against Faker in the decisive series.

Supa

Total Apex rating – 5.1 (13th among bot laners, 70th among players)

Champions Played

  • Corki (2)
  • Vayne (2)
  • Caitlyn
  • Ezreal
  • Sivir
  • Xayah
  • Yunara
  • Zeri

Supa did not have the breakout performance he would have wanted. His worst game was against Team Secret Whales. He was caught in the shop multiple times by Hizto. His teamfighting was also not something he would have wanted. He managed to regain his confidence for the rest of the series. He nearly took over game two against T1, but Faker proved too much for him to deal with.

Alvaro

Total Apex rating – 5.4 (tied 8th among supports, tied 55th among players)

Champions Played

  • Braum (3)
  • Rakan (3)
  • Alistar
  • Bard
  • Lulu
  • Rell

Alvaro stood out at MSI for MKOI. His engagements made waves in the community. Many expected him to match that level at Worlds. However, he never seemed to perform at the final international event of the year. He was not the reason MKOI struggled, but he also never stepped up to carry them over the line.

Movistar KOI Team Review

Finishing with a 2-3 record is probably the best that anyone would have expected from the roster. If they had avoided T1 on the final day, maybe they would have qualified for the Bracket Stage. Regardless, they have plenty to be proud of. If the team sticks together and continues to improve, they could become a threat at international events in 2026.
