XDefiant recently launched its Y1S0.2 update and we’re here to provide the full patch notes. Given how the game has only been out in the gaming market for a little over two weeks, many issues are surely to get in the way. Thankfully, nothing game-breaking has affected the game so far. The most recent patch focuses on bug fixes that either cause the game to crash or have the game act weirdly.

With all that said, here are all the details regarding the Y1S0.2 update.

XDefiant Y1S0.2 Patch Notes

For future reference, the meaning behind Y1S0.2 is Year 1 Season 0.2. Ubisoft prefers to name the version of the game based on the year and season moving forward.

XDefiant version Y1S0.2 went live on June 4, 2024. The game underwent a one-hour server maintenance to apply all the new fixes. Most of these fixes were applied to the game’s social aspect and some minor issues were found during a match.

Social

One of the issues players had was the crossplay settings. Whenever players would team up in a party, if each member had different crossplay settings, they couldn’t find a match. As a solution, Ubisoft applied the most restrictive crossplay settings whenever teamed up in a party. Meaning to say, players no longer have to worry about having different settings since their party will automatically have a default setting.

Then there were instances when the wrong username would pop up on the Social screen for some users. This led to players inviting the wrong friend. In Y1S0.2, players no longer have to worry about accidentally inviting the wrong person.

The developers also fixed an issue wherein the game would crash whenever a player spammed a button that constantly opens and closes the View Party Invites tab. Ubisoft found it weird that some people did that. Nevertheless, it was still an issue they needed to address, and provided a much-needed patch for it.

Miscellaneous

As for the other fixes, the developers worked on an issue that affected the game’s textures when hopping on a match. There are some maps wherein players would see missing textures if they end up joining mid-game.

Another major concern everyone had was how PS5 players had the ability to sneak into restricted areas of certain maps. Apparently, the culprit behind this exploit was the PS5 Activities. Thankfully, players outside the PS5 no longer have to worry about this unintentional hack.

The developers also increased the security measurement in the game to avoid any hacking of accounts and other intruding activities.

Given that Ubisoft named their patch based on Year and Season, it’s clear that they plan on consistently maintaining the game. Based on their Year 1 roadmap, fans will be treated to a total of four seasons. Each season will see the launch of three new weapons and maps. Additionally, new factions are also coming to the game, which will bring new dynamics on how to win matches in XDefiant.

With the success XDefiant generated in a span of two weeks, having over one million players playing the game in a span of two and a half hours upon launch, it’s clear that the game is here to stay.
