For a second consecutive week, Xur has little good to offer Destiny 2 players. The Hunter Exotic armor on offer is an option if you do not have them already. There is one decent Legendary weapon for sale in the form of Blast Furnace. It is not the god roll by any means. If you missed it during Into the Light, you have the chance now. There is one Exotic weapon that is still relevant, but has fallen off since Episode: Heresy.
There are nine legendary weapons on sale from Xur this week. Unlike last week, there is one Adept weapon as part of his wares.
The Hawkmoon sold by Xur this week has Hip-fire Grip, which is not what you want. His other Exotic weapons are: Vigilance Wing, Hard Light, and The Queenbreaker. Vigiliance Wing is a good Exotic Pulse Rifle to use in PvP. Hard Light is an entry-level Exotic weapon, but it has little use nowadays after the removal of the Match-Game modifier from most content. The final Exotic weapon for sale is the Queensbreaker. It shone during Episode: Heresy and is still a solid DPS option today. As for the catalysts, neither is that impressive. The Colony catalyst is good, but the weapon lacks a place in the sandbox. The other catalyst is for Skyburner’s Oath, which gives very little value.
Assassin’s Cowl is one of the safest Exotics for Hunters. The healing and invisibility from melee kills provide survivability for any subclass, besides Void. It is not an S-tier Exotic, by any means. However, purchase it from Xur if you are missing it. Athrys Embrace, on the other hand, is a niche Exotic. It can pop off in PvP and frustrate enemy players. There is a build for it in PvE, but it is far less popular.
For a second week in a row, the Titans do not have great options from Xur. Eternal Warrior and Blastwave Striders are extremely niche Exotics. Eternal Warrior is okay for Fists of Havoc. You can use it for PvP purposes, but other than that, most Titans run Thundercrash in PvE.
Starfire Protocol was once the best Exotic armor piece in Destiny 2. Since its nerfs, it has not reached that peak. Bungie buffed it recently, making it a viable PvE option. Secant Filaments is the other Warlock Exotic from Xur. It is a niche Exotic that grants Devour without needing the Feed the Void Aspect.
The Exotic Class Items have returned to Xur’s wares this week. You must complete Dual Destiny on the specific class to purchase it. Other than that, you can buy resources like Ascendant Shards, Enhancement Cores, Glimmer, Deepsight Harmonizers, Strange Gifts, and a Favor of the Nine.
As a reminder, Xur is only in the Tower with these wares until Tuesday’s reset. If you want to get your hands on any of his gear, be sure to visit him before that point.
