It’s almost time for the final act of Zenless Zone Zero’s first grand story arc – update 1.4 of ZZZ will bring us right to the heart of the conspiracy currently going in New Eridu and the mysterious Ethereal known as Sacrifice.
Phaethon will have to team up with the new Agents Hoshimi Miyabi and Asaba Harumasa from the ZZZ 1.4 banners as well as all of their old comrades-in-arms to master the unfolding crisis – good thing that Harumasa will be given out for free to all players. Included in the ZZZ 1.4 update are impactful gameplay changes, such as the fact that Decibels – the fuel for Ultimates – won’t be shared by the team anymore, allowing all Agents to use their Ultimates more frequently.
Here are all the details on the Zenless Zone Zero update 1.4 start and server downtime.
The Zenless Zone Zero servers are scheduled to go offline on December 18, 2024, at 6am (UTC+8) in preparation for update 1.4. Here’s what that means for your timezone:
The ZZZ servers are estimated to be offline for a total duration of five hours, after which players will be able to log back in and explore the content included with patch 1.4.
Usually HoYoverse doesn’t need any more time than the scheduled five hours, so here’s when Zenless Zone Zero update 1.4 should be available in your timezone if all goes according to plan:
Each hour of server downtime will be compensated with 60 Polychromes, so you can expect to receive at least 300 Polychromes for the trouble. In case maintenance takes longer than usual or bugs that impacted the player experience in the previous version have been fixed, additional compensation will be headed your way for those technical issues. Make sure to visit your inbox and claim your free currency inside a timeframe of 30 days following the update – otherwise it will go to waste.
The preload for Zenless Zone Zero update 1.4 on PC, iOS, and Android is already available – this will enable you to download most of the files needed to update the game ahead of time, allowing you to dive into the action much more quickly once version 1.4 is live.
There is currently no preload on PS5, so users playing on the console will need to remain a little more patient and download the update once launch day rolls around.
The download size for updates in HoYoverse games varies depending on the device you play on as well as the language packages you have installed, but here’s how large the files should be on average for ZZZ 1.4’s preload:
Make sure to have extra space on your device beyond the sheer download size, as the game will temporarily require some additional free storage (around double the download size) to unpack all the data before installing the update.
Make sure to grab any active ZZZ codes to secure yourself additional Polychromes.

With the NFL season about to kick off, there's no better time to look ahead and predict how the division standings will shake out by season's end. This week, Yardbarker's NFL crew came together to do just that.
Perhaps one of the winners of the Green Bay Packers’ trade acquisition of Micah Parsons on Thursday is Russell Wilson and the New York Giants. With Parsons gone in the NFC East division, the Giants don’t have to deal with Parsons twice in the 2025 NFL regular season. Well, they will still be facing the Packers in East Rutherford in Week 11, but at least they’re not going to deal with Parsons multiple games in a season for years to come. Russell Wilson gets response from Parsons after Green Bay Packers trade Following Parsons’ stunning trade from the Dallas Cowboys to Green Bay, Wilson went on social media to offer the former Penn State Nittany Lions star some logistical help. “You know @MicahhParsons11 I went to Wisconsin @BadgerFootball…Anything you need in Wisco… Packing ur bags.. moving company… just let me know. ,” Wilson shared in a post on X. Parsons saw Wilson’s post and responded to it. “ hit my line,” Parsons wrote. It is undeniable that the Cowboys lost a crucial defensive weapon by letting go of Parsons, but they also didn’t see him as important enough to get him the extension contract he was looking for. Instead, Parsons lands in Green Bay, where he will be helping the Packers’ stop unit that was just 12th in the NFL in 2024 with a 7.42 percent sack rate. In any case, Parsons is no longer as big of a yearly threat to the rest of the NFC East but is now for the Packers’ NFC North rivals. The Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions just had their respective offensive lines and quarterbacks put on notice by Parsons.
Taylor Townsend claimed Jelena Ostapenko made insulting comments about her background and education after their heated U.S. Open match on Wednesday. Townsend beat Ostapenko 7-5, 6-1 during their second round match Wednesday, but the two players got into an argument during the traditional post-match congratulatory handshakes. Townsend and Ostapenko continued the argument at Ostapenko’s player bench before Townsend ultimately broke off to celebrate. Townsend was asked during her post-match interview what was said between her and Ostapenko. The American claimed Ostapenko had personally insulted her. “It’s competition. People get upset when they lose. Some people say bad things,” Townsend said. “She told me I have no class, I have no education, and to see what happens when we get outside the US. I’m looking forward to it. I beat her in Canada outside the U.S. … let’s see what else she has to say.” Townsend was certainly insulted by what Ostapenko told her. She even had the American crowd jeer Ostapenko as the Latvian left the court. Ostapenko has clashed with other players before, but most would agree that if Townsend correctly represented what she said, that undoubtedly crossed a line.
Chicago Cubs manager Craig Counsell was ejected early in his team's game against the San Francisco Giants on Thursday, and home plate umpire David Rackley didn't put up with much before giving him the hook. Chicago had outfielder Ian Happ at the plate with a runner on first and one out in the top of the third inning at Oracle Park in San Francisco. Right fielder Kyle Tucker attempted to steal second on a 3-2 pitch in a tie game, but he was thrown out at second. The pitch was also called a strike, which ended the inning. Counsell felt that the ball had missed outside and came out of the dugout to state his case to Rackley, who was in no mood to hear it. Counsell was quickly dismissed from the game. The Cubs lost their first two games of the series against San Francisco and scored a combined five runs in those contests, so Counsell may have been trying to light a fire under his team. Though he seemed a bit surprised when Rackley ejected him. Chicago entered Thursday with a record of 76-57. Counsell's team was 6.5 games behind the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central but atop the NL wild-card standings.
