Chris Bumstead may be retired now, but his dedication and consistent effort to not only stay healthy but also to motivate millions of his fans prove why he won the Mr. Olympia 6 times.

On May 3, CBum shared a new video on his Instagram featuring a motivational message and himself doing some exercises.

In the caption, the Canadian bodybuilder writes, “What you don’t work one, begins to work against you. The pursuit is endless.”

In the post, he was seen doing workouts like:

  • Standing dumbbell biceps curls
  • Standing barbell overhead press
  • Resisted sprints
  • Incline dumbbell bench press

Returning to his motivational message, CBum tries to highlight that nothing in life is neutral. When anyone stops working hard and putting in extra effort, progress halts and drifts backward.

To provide some context, a few days ago, on April 1, CBum gave advice to all the young people.

He said, “If I had a piece of advice for any young person of what to do with their life, I’d be like go start working out. Apply the discipline to the gym. Every time you don’t want to go, go.

When you’re tired, go. When you’re sore, work harder. Keep pushing through those times. Be consistent. And the confidence you build from consistency and doing things you want to do will just apply to everything else in your life. And I think it’s so crucial. I am a huge believer in that.”

He doesn’t only say these things to motivate his fans; he also follows the same ideology. That was evident recently in his promotional post on Instagram, which revealed his partnership with Gymshark.

CBum does not believe in a finish line

On May 5, in an Instagram post, CBum said, “My first capsule collection with Gymshark. It’s called Unfinished because I’ve realized there isn’t really a finish line to any of this.”

The work in the gym, the work on ourselves, the work in life, it keeps going. Not because we’re incomplete, but because growth and fulfillment aren’t just outcomes of the pursuit… they’re actually the point of it.”

even for his Gymshark photoshoot, the bodybuilder locked himself in and got shredded on a structured diet that included:

  • High-protein smoothie
  • Lean protein, such as beef, carbohydrates, and vegetables, after a workout
  • Salmon with optional carbs for midday meal
  • In the evening, he consumes vegetables and protein
  • Extra protein before bed

So, Bumstead’s philosophy and commitment highlight that growth in life and fitness comes from discipline and focusing on the journey rather than the finish line.
