Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Aces will wrap off their road trip on Sunday with their third game against the Washington Mystics, with the Aces leading the season series 2-0. The Aces are 9-1 over their past 10 games, while the Mystics are 5-5. The Aces won their most recent matchup 98-77 on July 4th at the Michelob Ultra Arena.

Since their previous meeting, the Aces have won three of their past four games and are now in fourth place with a 15-7 record. The Mystics are 2-2 in their previous four games and now rank 11th in the standings with a 6-17 record. The Aces won both games against the Mystics by double digits, 88-77 and 98-77.

The Mystics, who were missing Stefanie Dolson in the last meeting between these teams, will have her back this time against the Aces. Stefanie Dolson faced the Aces on June 29th before missing the second game on July 4th due to illness; after her return, she has scored in double digits in all four games.

Some players to watch out for on the Mystics include Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, who is a spark off the bench for the Mystics and scored a team-high 19 points in their most recent game against the Aces. Walker-Kimbrough finished the game shooting 7-13 from the field and 3-5 from three, and she backed it up with two consecutive double-digit scoring performances.

Another player to watch out for is Ariel Atkins, who leads the Mystics in scoring with 15 points per game, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. In their most recent game, Atkins lead the Mystics in scoring with 26 points as they defeated the Indiana Fever 89-84.

As for the Aces, A’ja Wilson is coming off a historic performance in which she scored 33 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, blocked 5 shots, stole three, and made three three-pointers. Wilson has also been on a tear this season, but in the last four games, she became the first player in WNBA history to average 30 points and 15 rebounds.

Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young both scored 20 or more points in the Aces last game against the Mystics. Plum led the way with 28 points, shooting 10-13 from the field and 6-9 from three, while Jackie Young added 20 points on 8-15 shooting.

With only two games before the All-Star break it will be important for the Aces to close out the break with two wins with a chance to keep climbing up the standings. The game will be televised on the CBS SportsNet, with tipoff scheduled for noon.
