After a thrilling victory on Sunday, August 3 against the Golden State Valkyries, the Las Vegas Aces (15-14) look to extend their win streak when they head to the Bay Area to take on the Valkyries on Wednesday, August 6 at 7pm PT.
The game will be televised locally on Vegas 34 and streamed on NBA TV or WNBA League Pass.
The reigning MVP of the league, A’ja Wilson leads the Aces. She needs just 2 more blocks to reach 500 career blocks. Upon attaining the milestone, Wilson will be just the 4th player in WNBA history to have 5,000 points, 2,000 rebounds, 500 assists, and 300 steals.
Wilson will become the youngest and fastest player to reach those milestones. She is averaging 21.7 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.7 steals this season.
The Aces have made a positive spin with their last two wins coming against Golden State and Dallas.
Jackie Young has helped carry the Aces as of late. Young is averaging 25 points and shooting 61.5% from the floor. In the win against the Valkyries, Young shot a perfect, 14-for-14 from the free-throw line.
Golden State were without Tiffany Hayes, who was out due to a leg injury. Kayla Thornton is out for the remainder of the season with right knee injury.
The Valkyries will rely on the talents of Veronica Burton, who is averaging 10.8 points per game and 11.2 points per game within the last 5 games.
The Aces will begin a three-game homestand on Friday against the Seattle Storm (16-13).
