After their loss in a season opening rematch with the New York Liberty 78-92, the Las Vegas Aces take their show on the road to Connecticut to face the Sun on Tuesday, May 20 at 7pm ET/4pm PT.
Both teams come into this game 0-1.
In the loss, Aces center A’ja Wilson scored 31 points, 16 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.
The Aces used the opener to possibly work out some of their kinks on both sides of the ball, after all they do have some new pieces that they’ve acquired in the offseason.
The Aces went 14-6 on the road last season and finished with a 27-13 record overall. This led them to the WNBA Semifinals where the lost 3-1 to New York.
Last season, the Aces averaged 86.4 points per game last season, with most of those points coming from inside the paint.
In this game, the Aces will be without the talent of Megan Gustafson and Cheyenne Parker-Tyus. Gustafson suffered a leg injury in the offseason and Parker-Tyus is on maternity leave until the end of the season.
The Sun suffered an 85-90 loss to the Washington Mystics. They were up by as many as 15 but fell late in the fourth quarter.
The Aces have won 7 of the last 10 regular season meetings against the Sun, going all the way back to 2021.
