Las Vegas Aces reigning MVP A’ja Wilson will miss a third consecutive game in the concussion protocol when the Aces take on the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday.
The Aces made the announcement on Monday.
Wilson has not played since Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks when she exited in the third quarter after she was struck in the head by Sparks forward Dearica Hamby. A’ja Wilson was placed in concussion protocol on Friday after being evaluated by a doctor.
The Aces went on to fall to the Sparks and have split two games that they’ve played without Wilson.
In Wilson’s absence, the trio of Jackie Young, Chelsea Gray, and Jewell Loyd have emerged to fill the gap on the offensive end. All three are averaging 16 points per game.
A’ja Wilson leads the Aces in almost all statistical categories including averaging 20.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.6 blocks per game.
The Aces have lost three of four and they are 5-5 to start the season. They face a fierce Minnesota Lynx team that just suffered their first loss of the season against the Seattle Storm.
Following their game against Minnesota, they host Seattle at home on Friday.
