Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson made WNBA history on Tuesday night. Playing in a game against the Atlanta Dream, Wilson tied a WNBA record by pouring in 53 points in leading the Aces to a 112-100 victory.
The former South Carolina star did so on extremely efficient shooting as she made 16-of-23 field goals (69.6%) in addition to going 20-of-21 (95.2%) on her free throws. Not only that, but she pulled down seven rebounds and was a force defensively with four blocks.

Wilson’s 53 points tied the previous record set by center Liz Cambage in 2018 with the Dallas Wings. Las Vegas improved to 29-4 on the season with the win and currently sits atop the WNBA standings.
