A'ja Wilson has been racking up hardware all of 2025. The Las Vegas Aces center took home her fourth WNBA MVP award, tied for Defensive Player of the Year with Minnesota's Alanna Smith and led her team to a third championship in four years.
Now Wilson is talking about a different kind of future. In a recent interview with TIME magazine, where she was named Athlete of the Year for 2025, the 29-year-old spoke about having children with her boyfriend, Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo.
The discussion showed how serious their relationship has become over the last four years, going back to the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
When asked about having kids with Adebayo, Wilson did not bat an eyelid.
"That's always a dream," she told TIME. "This is my life partner. Honestly, what on earth was my world before you? That's how much he's impacted my life, my family’s life."

The couple keeps most of their relationship under wraps, but Wilson has been a bit more open in the past few months about what Adebayo means to her. She told Cosmopolitan in an interview back in April that he is her best friend and her safe haven.
They met during the COVID restrictions at the Tokyo Olympics. The athletes were forced to stay in their hotels. The U.S. basketball teams spent their time playing Uno and dominoes in a lounge. This is where their friendship began, which eventually developed into something more.
Adebayo has been seen wearing Wilson's A'One Nike sneakers during Heat games, promoting her brand through his NBA platform. He posted "U'nanimous" on social media when she won MVP, playing with the spelling of her name.
The topic of marriage keeps arising in discussions around the couple, but neither appears to be in a hurry, even as Wilson drops hints. Asked about wedding plans by TIME, Wilson laughed and said that was up to Adebayo.
"I hope I'm not wasting my time. I hope he's not wasting his time," she said.
Adebayo had a brief answer when asked the same question.
"Y'all will know, because people are nosy and they'll look at her hands," he told TIME. "There you go."
The back-and-forth banter implies that both parties are satisfied with the status quo for now.
