As Game 1 of the semifinals between the Indiana Fever and Las Vegas Aces ended, there was a strange feel to the scoreline. Never mind that the Indiana Fever won the game despite of all the odds against them. What’s strange is that A’ja Wilson was held to just 27% shooting for just 16 points. Naturally, after the game, Aliyah Boston (who held her to 2-11 when defending) was asked about her game plan for this. Her reply was so simple yet so insightful. “Honestly, tryne kinda be annoying a little bit.”
Now, in the midst of ongoing Game 4, Aliyah Boston is trying to make sure that she is able to replicate her Game 1 performance against one of the best in the league. As things stand, Wilson is 6-10 for 12 points. She started the first quarter hot but has somewhat cooled down in the second quarter. When asked about the adjustments she made in her half-time interview. Aliyah Boston had a simple two-word message for A’ja Wilson.
She said, “Hey, Holly, we’re professionals. People are going to score the basketball. So, for me, like I said, just make sure she feels my presence. And if she hits a tough two, she hits a tough two.
(this is a building story…)
