The Indiana Fever secured a statement victory on Thursday night, beating the Las Vegas Aces 81‑54 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, snapping a 16‑game losing streak against the former back-to-back WNBA champions.
Kelsey Mitchell poured in a team‑high 25 points, while Aliyah Boston added 20 points and seven rebounds in a balanced offensive effort.
The Fever’s defense held Las Vegas to 26.2% shooting from the field, 18.8% from deep and forced 19 turnovers, marking the Aces’ lowest point total this season.
Boston, the Fever’s All-Star forward/center, let her social media followers know exactly how she felt after the blowout, reposting the Fever’s Instagram announcement of the win and captioning it, "Bow bow bow."
Since being selected first overall by Indiana in the 2023 WNBA Draft, Boston has carved out a rapid ascent to stardom.
A former South Carolina Gamecock, she led her college program to the 2022 NCAA championship and earned Most Outstanding Player honors as well as the Wade Trophy, Wooden Award and AP Player of the Year.
In her first WNBA season, Boston claimed Rookie of the Year honors, leading the league in field goal percentage (57.8%) and becoming just the eighth rookie to start in an All-Star game.
This season, Boston is averaging a career-high 16.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game, while shooting 60.3% from the field.
On Monday, she was named a starter for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis, her second career start and third straight appearance.
For Indiana, Thursday’s 27‑point victory provides momentum as they prepare for a challenging July slate, including rematches with the Atlanta Dream and New York Liberty.
