The Indiana Fever suffered an 88-77 loss to the Golden State Valkyries' in the franchise's first-ever matchup.
Golden State has surprised WNBA fans in their first season, after having an expansion draft in the offseason, adding tremendous talent, such as Kate Martin, Kayla Thornton, Tiffany Hayes and Chloe Bibby.
The Valkyries stand at 6-6 on the season, currently in the playoff picture.
While much of the attention was spotlighted on the Golden State Valkyries, the Indiana Fever also caught the attention of fans with their historic announcement.
In the loss to the Valkyries, Aliyah Boston earned a spot on a historic list. Boston passed Teaira McCowan for the No. 4 spot on the Fever's all-time blocks list.
She has earned 118 blocks during her three-year career with the Fever, according to Indiana's social media page.
Aliyah Boston had one of her best games of the season, posting 17 points, 12 rebounds, one assist and three blocks.
Boston reposted the news on social media after the game. She reacted to a post from Fever teammate Natasha Howard with the message, "Thank you."
The Fever also announced Aliyah Boston as "Stat Leader of the Game," highlighting an incredible matchup from the WNBA star.
Kelsey Mitchell also had a tremendous game for the Indiana Fever, posting 16 points, one rebound and two assists.
While Caitlin Clark struggled to find an offensive rhythm, she contributed on all ends of the floor, capping off the game with 11 points, seven rebounds and nine assists.
The Indiana Fever will now look to bounce back after suffering their first loss since Caitlin Clark returned to the lineup. Indiana will be back on the floor on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET against the Las Vegas Aces.
